Vote for your top prospect and nominate who you want to see added to the poll list of options. Don't forget to nominate a prospect to add!

I will not be using HF's standards for prospects, rather I'll count players as prospects who haven't played a full year in the NHL and appear to not be a slam dunk for a roster spot next year.

#1 Adrian Kempe (55.42% of votes)
#2 Valentin Zykov (54.55% of votes)
#3 Nick Shore (33.87% of votes)
#4 Jordan Weal (58.49% of votes)
#5 Derek Forbort (54.17% of votes)
#6 Michael Mersch (55.56% of votes)
#7 Alex Lintuniemi (22.92% of votes)
#8 Erik Cernak (27.78% of votes)
#9 Jonny Brodzinski (29.27% of votes)
#10 Kevin Gravel (32.50% of the votes)(54.10% of the votes in a tiebreaker)
#11 Patrik Bartosak (55.77% of the votes)
#12 Alexander Dergachyov (35.14% of the votes)
#13 Nic Dowd (38.71% of the votes)
#14 Paul LaDue (46.88% of the votes)

Im very confused as to what Ladue did to go from mid 20's to #14. He had a very similiar season to year before. He is a project players still many years away with limited potential. Can someone who voted for him explain to me why him over Mistele, Watson, Lowry, Amadio, Ebert?

Lowry nation!

While I don't get it as well (though I am a big fan of LaDue) I would put LaDue ahead of Ebert.

I voted Amadio this time. Add MacDermid.

It was VERY close between Amadio and LaDue for me. I gave LaDue the edge, because North Dakota is a very good developmental system and I think he's going to be getting even more responsibilities going forward, so I think there's a little bit more than what we're already seeing. Amadio is a solid prospect, too, and I really like the leap he made offensively. I just don't think his offense will continue to progress. He's a safer prospect.

I'm not a big fan of Watson's game. Ebert is in the same tier as Amadio and LaDue in my opinion. It's just a style preference.

I just think these players are better than Lowry. Mistele has a nice recovery season, but he hasn't won me over yet.

I'm gonna go against the grain and vote Leslie here, I feel like he is very raw, but with a very high upside.

Can't wait to see his first pro year.

Amadio will be a top-10 prospect in our system by season's end.

Berube has a higher chance of making it to the show than all these other guys combined.

If that was a bet I'd take it. Berube is at best a backup. Meanwhile it's almost guaranteed someone else on this list is a NHL regular at the least, likely a few of them.

A King scout was asked what he felt about of Minnesota defenseman, Hobey Baker Finalist, turned free agent, Mike Reilly, prior to Reilly signing a maximum rookie contract with The Wild. He spoke about Reilly and compared him with Paul LaDue:

“Reilly is better [than LaDue] offensively, but not as good in his own end. He’s really dynamic offensively. … He’s not Jack Johnson level scary in own end, but also not as big as Jack either. … I’d say he’s like Jared Spurgeon [of the Minnesota Wild] in a lot of ways, but with more size. … Reilly will consistently outscore LaDue in the NHL, but I would not trade LaDue for Reilly.”

So, he is of the opinion that LaDue is better overall than Reilly, who led U of Minnesota on scoring was Hobey Baker Finalist, that several NHL teams tried to sign, including LA. That's his opinion...but I esteem a scouts opinion, who knows both players and has seen them several times and knows their games. If the Kings signed Reilly, he would have been voted top 3 in this poll. He would have garnered some votes for #1 and finished top 3 with Kempe and Zykov. And this scout thinks LaDue is better than Reilly.

Amadio will be a top-10 prospect in our system by season's end.

That would be nice. He's shown flashes. I feel the same about Mistele fwiw.

Rather have the guy with the 10% chance of being a regular over the guy with a 60% chance of being an emergency backup that plays 20 mins.

Amen.

Berube may very well make it but I'm very confident in saying he won't play any significant NHL time, and if he does, that team is in trouble.

LOTS of goalies at high levels can make miracle saves at times, but what do they do the rest of the time?
