Not sure what happened to him, I always liked his game and he was pretty decent for the Ducks
Talent but lazy seems appropriate for him. Maybe off-ice issues

Good riddance, guy was never going to cut it in the NHL.

I am partially biased ever since watching this guy fail at the WJC in Vancouver though

He just didn't seem to have drive. He would continually come into camp out of shape. He had talent, but just didn't try enough to do anything with it. That's my take as a Ducks fan at least.

From what I hear, Russian training camp will whip him into shape real quick

He was NOT decent for the Ducks after that one season.

He simply doesn’t process, or think the game, at an NHL level. It’s why he lights up training camps and lower levels but his production isn’t more than flashes in the NHL, once the season starts and things become much more structured.

He’s as physically talented as half the Top 6 forwards in the league. He just can’t process what they’re doing mentally.

Huge loss... For nobody at all.

I'd definitely say it's a loss for us Sharks fans. Whenever we played the Ducks, their team always made me think of food with Max Kumquat in the lineup. I suppose they can still make me hungry since they have Fowler and Minty but it's not the same without Kumquat.

If he would have just taken hockey seriously and played the simple style he did his one good season, he would have been a very solid complimentary winger. He had the talent to be an NHL player, just not the motivation. Big body, could shoot, got open in prime scoring areas... wish I had that size and talent

Reminds me of ODell ..,. A 2 nd round pick that could not cut the mustard in the NHL ….. but will probably squeak out a career in the KhL….

He probably is not even as good as ODell
