Would seem extremely pointless from either side. Dinamo "Riga" playing in Moscow, with mostly (if not all) Russian players and target of hate to Latvian people? If anything, that would serve to completely kill Dinamo Riga as a brand and ensure it never ever returns to Riga and its legacy from the USSR days when it actually stood for something is destroyed.

Exactly what I was thinking. I hope it doesn't happen and most likely won't. Just it's an interesting "loophole" in the new ruling.

I guess this makes it official, neither Jokerit nor Dinamo Riga sent in an application for the upcoming season.

CEO Sami Kauhanen also confirmed Jokerit are leaving KHL.

And from what I can tell, not one statement from Rīga yet on the future of the team? Interesting times.

According to Ilta-Sanomat news in Finland and reported by Championat in Russia, Jokerit have been told they must pay their KHL contract debts owed to several Finnish coaches before they are accepted into the Finnish system.

The debts total around €125,000.

Prediction Slovan is going to the Austria League
Or they will wait for the conflict to end and go KHL they are not staying in Slovakia lol
You are offering two options which are unrealistic now. I will add just facts.

1.Slovan´s new owner has been buying other clubs from Bratislava (in basketball, volleyball as for now)
2.Media claiming that the club´s new owner wants to build a new arena (bigger than current one) in Bratislava for no reason. :D They cover it via hosting IIHF Worlds.
3.New Slovan´s owner wanted to buy the club when playing last KHL season/s.

Apparently Lada has no money, even though assurances where made they would be stable for at least 3 years, new regional government have said they can't/won't pay for professional sports at the same level of funding as the previous one - I assumed Lada were supported by LADA but it says not and it's 100% state backed with only 'minor local sponsors that would run out in a month'.

Players at the CSKA game in Moscow had to take a regular flight home, nothing chartered and their luggage was sent back via bus .So not looking great.
