You guys need top 4 D, especially on the right side. We need picks and prospects. Klein is from pretty close to Toronto in Kitchener. Productive player on a good contract.

What picks/prospects would you give us for Klein? Maybe a 2nd+B prospect?

Would be a great fit, love him in NY. Price isnt cheap. Great contract, can play any pair, absolutely no reason to trade him unless we are tanking.

Don`t see much of a fit since signing Polak, even though Klein is better.

We have 8D now so I don`t see us chalking up a 2nd for a player we don`t really need. Maybe Leivo + 3rd...

I'd give up any two of leivo Percy Leipsic and a mid pick.

Percy signed in Pittsburgh.

Kevin Klein is our 2nd best defenseman AINEC.

We're not trading him for picks and prospects.

I wouldnt give up much, not because klein isnt good but because if we trade for him we either have to not protect connor carrick or not protect klein. Either way it would be poor asset management if we lose carrick or give up a prospect to get klein only to lose him to expansion(now we are out a young player and a vet steady dman)

Precisely. If there's a trade for us to get a defender, it'll be one of quality and fits a need long-term. Nothing against Klein.

Ranger fans, we gotta tank.

This team is not good.
Two things:

One-- The Rangers will never tank. They are quite possibly the most anti-tank team philosophically. They have NEVER earned a top five draft pick since the league grew larger than 6 teams. Seriously. They've never done better than 6th overall. The one time they flirted with the possibility of a tank was in the lead up to the Crosby draft. And because of the lockout, that tank attempt resulted in them getting not Crosby, but the 16th overall pick instead. In short-- over the last 50 to 60 years, the Rangers THOUGHT about tanking one time. It was to try and snag the consensus best player in several generations, and it blew up in their faces.

Two-- If the Rangers were to buck half a century of team philosophy and culture, they could do a lot better than a 2nd rounder and a throw-away prospect for Klein. Klein could net a ransom at the trade deadline, and there would be no reason to trade him before that point.
