Chia won't do it unless Lucic/Sekera/Russell went the other way. Whether you like it or not. We are at the cap and we cannot afford to take 5.5M contracts at this point.
Honestly our left hand side looks relatively decent, at least to the point where there should be little appetite to apply more cap space and/or spend further assets to strengthen that side. The RH side is the weak spot, and NO Seabrook aint happenin either.

Better be good picks and prospects. Hawks would want Nurse, Pool or Yama +

You do know that Keith is 35 right? And has 4 years left after this one.

No f***ing way in hell you even sniff something like Nurse or Pulju/Yamo let alone with a +.

No interest here, go sell your declining vet to some other team.

Endowment effect much. You act like Keith and Pulj/Yamo/Nurse don’t belong in same sentence. Reality is you dont get top 4 D with Keith’s pedigree for dogshit Chia signed to absurd deals

What good is Keith's pedigree moving forward? Do his cup rings of the past earn him points in the present?

His top 4 ability does...we’ll start with that and then move on to the cup pedigree he has...nobody on Edmonton blueline can hold his jock strap and thats after a decade of long playoff runs...

If that's part of what he needs to produce, i imagine the Oilers would decline a trade.

Right now, Klefbom >> Keith

Check the stats

We don't want your washed up stars, keep them and their horrible contracts

If he ever does get traded to a contender don’t be surprised to see him eat up heavy minutes in meaningful games. This isn’t a Seabrook situation where he lost a couple steps. Keith can still play at a high level. Hawks are a tire fire atm for many reasons and thats distorting what people think he is...

The Hawks blueline is thinner than its ever been and Keith is playing less than he ever has. That doesn’t add up at all.

Klefbom and Larsson are better than Keith. Nurse is debatable but he certainly has much more value .

Here's the thing, i think if Chicago decided to move on from him, there would be more than one team interested....but i think the cost to acquire you are looking for would never happen. This is a 35 year old player with 5 years left...teams will be interested, but the price would need to be very reasonable.

And you think a guy like Pulj is off limits?

There would have to be heavy retention on Keith's cap hit to lower the risk for teams to take him on, considering his age and the fact that he is on the downslope of his career.

Edmonton defense is dookie stains. Not going anywhere in the playoffs with that group

... the Hawks might be the worst defence in the league. You’re playing Brandon Manning regularly.

Keith would help. That said, He’s not better than our top pairing guys when they’re healthy and no one in their right mind is giving up big assets to get him and his contract.

And yes, Puljujarvi is not available for 35 year olds. It doesn’t much matter anyway because we can’t afford it short term and don’t want him long term.

His contract isn't that bad. It's not good but it's not a deal breaker. He'd be Edmonton's best defender for the next 3 years. Last two years might hurt but it's still only 5.5M.

LTIR or retirements seems likely before then though.

Ridiculous.

This site is hilarious for underrating any star that loses a step.

How is that relevant? Does Keith immediately play 20-25min a night in your top 4? Yes. What is that worth to your team? Way more than trash Lucic and Sekera...

He is far from this player today. Not only Edmonton. No team is going to pay much for Keith at this point.

It’s relevant because on a much worse defence Keith is playing the most limited minutes of his career. That doesn’t make a ton of sense.

Does he play right side? Makes even less sense if he doesn’t.
