I figured they’d bring Demarcus Robinson back or something. This is much better, even if he isn’t the player he once was.

I was not watching ESPN but had the same name in mind.
DHop at this stage of his career isn't a WR1. Haven't followed him much the past couple of years since his exit from AZ. On a healthy KC WR group, where would DHop rank? Just to get a sense of how good he is now.

The big fish of the WR market is Kupp, but have to be sure he's healthy. His salary is $15 mill this year so $830K per week vs the cap. So, need around $9 mill in cap space to take him now or by the TDL it's like $7.5 mill in cap space.

No guaranteed money left for Kupp, so can decide to walk away if you can't figure out a revised contract moving forward. His current deal calls for $20 mill for 2025, split between $12.5 mill base and $7.5 roster bonus due in mid March if he's still on the roster.

Rams have done well at the draft in recent years, so if they get at least a 3rd with potential of it going to a 2nd or add another pick to it in 2026, they probably pull the trigger.

Rams might get pretty aggressive in rebuilding here too.

So long as Hopkins has 7-10 good games in him between now and late January that’s really all they need out of him. Maybe being on a team with real Super Bowl aspirations raises his play a bit, but anything more than that is gravy.
