He looks like a good vet to have in the AHL for sure.

Dobes has been doing better too. Nothing against Mann but he's been the worse goalie so far he's just not good enough. if you remove Mann's games the Rockets have been doing just fine.

13-6-4 without Mann in net.

It was a really good move. He’s all that Dobes isn’t: calm, experienced and relies on positioning rather than athleticism.

I like Dobes and I think that veteran goalie presence surely played a part in his resurgence.

Bouthillier is looking good in Trois-Rivières too. Vrbetic, not so much after a strong start.

One of the reasons for the Laval turnaround has to be the signing of G Kasimir Kaskisuo.
He has played 3 games, won all three and has a save % of over .940.
He is on a PTO and I hope he is signed to an NHL contract.
He also has an entertaining YouTube channel that you all should check out.
I figured he be good signing. I remember him with Marlies. Thought he was solid. Then he spent a few years in Euro leagues, usually improves them.

He was the Leafs goalie of the future only a few years ago. Not sure what happened with him, but maybe we have something here?

He's 30 years old but is the perfect AHL veteran goalie to have with Dobes to help with his 1at year as a pro. I would definitely be in favour of signing him for next year to team up with Dobes again.

He actually lost his starting role in SHL towards the end which promted the move back to NA.

And I second the Youtube comment!
Well produced and usually quite interesting videos.

While true, Mann and the other goalies can't take all the blame...this year it is like the team forgot what defence was and how to play it...

Xhekaj is who actually started the turnaround.
Before Xhekaj being sent down: 5-11-4
After Xhekaj being sent down: 12-3-1
Stabilizing the goaltending was the most pressing issue. Xhekaj's arrival is vital as well for sure.

Laval lost many key veteran players who are having good seasons elsewhere in the AHL now: Richard, Belzile, Dubé (19 goals) and Abandonnato + goalie Poulin who was a good backup for Primeau last season. + D-men Schuneman and Dello They wanted to make space for the rookies : Roy, Kidney, Davidson, Farrell, Mailloux, Dobes. Very normal to have had a rocky start. Maillet Andersson, Légaré and Keeper are newcomers too in this organisation.

It shows the importance of goaltending while developing the young players and why Hughes re-signed Allen.

Made 45 stops last night to go 4-0-0 for Laval. If we trade a goalie like to get a look at him. Tim Thomas never made the NHL until he was 30. He kicked around the minor leagues and over seas for near a decade. Then went on to win multiple Vezina and Jennings. Even a Conn Smythe

Habs should seriously think of giving him a NHL contract. With his great performance some other orgs are gonna offer him one in a near future.

Sign him to a nice AHL contract and then give him an NHL contract this summer.

Why does ever want to call up Lavals best players to a rebuilding team that definitely won’t make the playoffs? All the while Laval is actually fighting for a playoff spot . Leave them alone. Besides, KK is on an all pto, so he can’t be called up. Add to the fact that the Habs would still have 2 goalies.

KK has a 25 games PTO contract. He can leave or accept another PTO or regular contract from Laval or any other orgs after that. That would really suck for Laval to lose him while running for a Playoffs spot.

I would try and sign him to regular contract. There is a chance there
