The NYR are short in defensemen, with Lindgren injury.

Particularly LHD.
Even with Lindgren, some more depth on the left side wouldn't be a luxury for the Rangers.

MTL need offense, with Laine apparently out long term.
Kakko isn't really an offensive contributor as of now, but MTL are in a position to bet on those kind of gambles.

Kakko for Struble + a 3rd

Easy no from the Rangers. No point in trading him unless we're getting back something of actual value. Struble and a 3rd isn't it.

Why are the Habs as a bottom team trying to plug holes in the present team by trading futures. This is nonsense.

I could see a deal like this happen but I don't think the Habs add that high if a pick if they even add at all.

1:1 or Strubble + a late pick (5-7th) seems more likely based on where the two players are at both performance -wise and cap/contract situations.

You won't get much more than this for Kakko.

He had 19 pts in 61 games last year and he's not seen as a young prospect anymore.

if we need offense... why again would we look at Kakko

Cause we're not in a position to pay something big in order to acquire some.

We're still rebuilding and Struble for Kakko is an "abundance vs need" type of trade.

He’s 23 years old…before last years leg injury he had 40 points in 80 games. We’ll hold him thanks.
