Who was better at age 22?

KAM or Hedman?

Who has more untapped potential?

the leaps by miller this year may be the biggest contributing factor to our success this post season that no one outside of NYR is talking about. kid is just fantastic.

Think it's only a matter of time before he replaces Lindgren as Fox's partner. With Jones I think likely spending next season on that 3rd pair with Schneider. Lindgren possibly dropping down to play with Trouba. Heck, if Jones is successful enough I could see him pairing with Trouba and Lindgren dropping down to pair with Schneider.

But either way, K'Andre right now is our best 5x5/shutdown LD.

Well, I can tell you what no one needs, silly assumptions that two talented players won't have synergy and that only a certain partner will do.

It's pretty simple, lack of cap space plus...... KM their best shutdown LD. Fox their best offensive RD. Jones their highest ceiling LD who isn't KM, Trouba for now and Schneider for later, perfect compliments for Jones. Perfect compliments, perfect synergy.

I'd be shocked if Lindgren is still here after his contract is up. Meanwhile, KM isn't going anywhere and they'd be stupid to trade Jones, who stands a good chance of being their future PP2 QB.

Miller had a beautiful defensive play 5:20 into the second period as Kucherov was skating the puck through the neutral zone.

Poke check --> body check --> box out --> recover puck --> create offensive rush

Nikita's playing frustrated and Miller's a huge part of that.

Why would they breakup two great and effective pairings just to rearrange the furniture? That makes no sense at all.

This kid is special. I can't even wrap my head around the amount of young stars we have now and still yet to arrive.

Miller just gets better and better.

Miller is becoming one of my favorite rangers ever. Just because we’re witnessing his progression happening so fast in real time on the games biggest stage. God what a team and what a player

Our top 4 d are just dominant right now and Miller is a huge reason why.

Now that the run is over, fair to say that he stepped up and shined the brightest of all the young players.

I have massive respect and love for Lindgren and what he did during this run (completely 180'd his season for me) but Miller should be playing with Fox moving forward.

I think going forward I’d like them to run Miller-Fox, Jones-Trouba, Lindgren-Schneider.

They won’t play Jones and Schneider on the 3rd pair clearly, so this way you’re getting both youngsters in the lineup.

I still think they benefit the most for having them out there separately eating 20+min a game each. They could always put them together in late-game offensive situations, just like we've seen them do with Lindgren-Trouba in late-game defensive situations.

I'd probably give him - if Jones doesn't make the team - the main PP2 role next season too since he clearly has better vision than Trouba and doesn't try to take a useless slapshot from the point every 10 seconds

KAM gets better every year. He's growing into a Top D man for sure. I like his game allot. I wished he would have a bit more grit to it though. He's going to be another player who will need to be paid very soon.

2018

Acquired: Derick Brassard | 1st Pick: K'Andre Miller (22nd Overall)

Similar to Perron, Brassard was a touted playoff performer when he arrived in Pittsburgh but seemingly forgot that in Ottawa. Brassard never caught his footing with the Penguins and couldn't find a role in Sullivan's system. A disconnect between the two led to Brassard playing in the bottom six before being traded after just 54 games with the Penguins, in which he scored 12 goals and 23 points.

K'Andre Miller is a top-four defenseman for the New York Rangers and is coming off a run to the Eastern Conference Finals. At 22 years old, Miller will be a key figure for the Rangers' blue line for the foreseeable future.

I didn't realize that pick that we got from Ottawa was originally from Pittsburgh. Makes it all the sweeter.

As far as the picks we gave up, Ottawa took Jacob Bernard-Docker at 26, and at 48 they took Jonathan Tychonick. JBD has played 13 games in the NHL thus far across 2 seasons, and turns 22 at the end of this month. Tychonick turned 22 in March. Both are dmen, but neither has much offense to speak of. JBD may yet turn into a good player for them, but Tychonick's rights are set to expire on August 15th. If they haven't signed him by now, they probably aren't going to.

I said it early on, when there were calls to either demote him to the AHL or straight up get rid of the kid: He's a monster, and we haven't even seen him peak yet. I'd really love to see him with Fox too.

I would LOVE to see Schneider - Jones. Think of it as the kid's line. Let them grow into the NHL together. Pair them with either the third or fourth line. I really hope they'll give this a chance.

I actually expect the Rangers to dump Nemeth.....I mean vet D scratched the entirety of the last two playoff series kind of calls for that.

I'd also guess that the Rangers will sign a vet D for something cheaper than they gave Nemeth. That guy will be Jones's competition for the LD spot next to Schneider. My guess is that Zac Jones is not going to get the job handed to him. He's going to have to earn it in training camp and then he's going to have to keep it. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense to have a 21/22 year old bottom pairing if they're going to get burned all the time. Not saying that's what's going to happen but it makes sense to have that vet around if it does just for insurance.

Miller has blown away my expectations! He may have more upside than any one of our other young players. I think he's headed towards superstardom.

I’d resign Braun although the defense really needs to get quicker as a whole top 6. Braun has been good enough that Im sure most would take him back as a 6th or 7th. Jones should get games with Schneider and be given a chance to make the team full time.
