Konecny will never be a leading player for a winning team, get a high pick or two and bring Kakko. He's underrated and criminally misused in the Rangers. They still insist on giving Panarin and Zibanejad over 20 minutes in a game and barely 12 for Kakko and others.
Disgrace off a franchise with their current and former coaching staffs.

Ok, so then how much salary is Danny willing to eat from that deal he just gave TK, cause most teams in the league aren't touching him now at full price

He paced for over 70 points the previous 2 seasons and is on pace for over 70 points for his 3rd straight season. The contract hasn't started yet so I suppose it can be risky and a bad trade for a team in a couple of seasons, but right now that's what those players are going to get when they break 70 points-80 points in a season. Especially when those numbers aren't that inflated by 30+ powerplay points.

Anyway, the poster clearly threw in high pick or 2. So I'm assuming they're looking at 2 1st round picks and Kakko here.

He is the go to guy in Philly, so that inflates his numbers. He won't be skating 21+ minutes a night with any other team so his numbers would drop accordingly. I love TK back to his 67's days, but he will never be worth that contract imo. He was a hot commodity at 5.5, Danny could have gotten a real nice package for him a year ago, but not anymore

Lol yeah right bud.
True story, he was hot sh1t at 5.5, but at 8.75, he's just another overpaid winger now and I've been a big fan of his for a long time

BTW, I hope no one says Kakko is terrible. Thankfully haven't seen it yet. He's a big part of arguably our best line and one of the best lines in the NHL. And yes of course he's a disappointment for the #2 overall pick.

Just like we told you on the Flyers board, the Flyers are not trading their just-extended best forward for a bust/3rd liner. Stop with this weird idea.

Salary. The cap is 8.75
Ya, hence why I said "he's making" and not "his hit is". Point is he will be highly overpaid for a 60 point winger, no matter how you slice it, even more so when you extrapolate his numbers based on the 4-ish less minutes a night he'd be skating with a contender. He makes double digits in 3 of the next 4 years, you might not care, but the guys signing his checks would

Lots of contenders don't care that he's set to make 11 million. You positioned that as to why no one is touching it. If you want to say 8.75 is and overpayment, fine, but at least position it that way instead of using salary to claim nobody is touching it.

Ok, well no contender is paying what amounts to a second line winger, almost 9 million. Again, I love the kid, but Briere tied a boat anchor around his neck and I was mortified when he did it as I had been hoping Ottawa could get him for a long time. At the end of the day, he's not going anywhere, Flyers would never get a justifiable return
