I just wanted to stop by and say those of you said Bernier was the real deal and got laughed at cause I know it happened cause I saw it, you guys were absolutely 100% RIGHT.

I mean the guy ROBS philly of a win, then when Reimer has an off night he steals a win from ottawa , then he losses 2-1 to the avs in a game that if we had ANY ability AT ALL to win a faceoff that night he probably would haven won, then last night he just decides that Nashville isn't going to score and goes into beast mode with 36 saves and wins 4-0.

we are 4-1 and could EASILY be 5-0 because of Bernier. I know it's early and I'm sure he will have an off night some time but for the first time since 2004 I have ZERO concerns in net.

I hope you guys are laughing at the people that doubted Bernier cause you were right he's legit.

On another note how does Frattin and Scrivens look for you guys?

Scrivens played like 1 period backing up Quick and he looked pretty good. Kings fans wont admit it but Matt Frattin has pretty much been invisible. Yea , when we traded Simmonds to Philly too people doubted him but he turned out pretty damn good; Im guessing thats what happend with you guys with Bernier.

We are always right. We were also right when when told you about Miley Cyrus.

Sutter said that Frattin has been the Kings best forward the other day, so there is that. I'm not quite that impressed yet but he's made some nice plays.

I'm not really suprised to see some of the comments about Frattin, the guy was red hot for us last year then he got hurt, got healthy and not ONE goal in 21 games after he came back that's why while some of us loved him I was OK with seeing him gone

In four games so far, Frattin has 2 assists and is a -5. I'm willing to give him a larger sample size to see what he's capable of, but so far I don't see anything earth shattering. I think Scrivens may be the real value in the deal. He had a great numbers in college and the AHL and there's no reason to think that won't translate into the NHL.

Enjoy Bernier, you guys will not be disappointed with him. I'm happy that he finally gets his chance to be a #1, but i'm sure a lot of Kings fans will keep playing devil's advocate as far as keeping him over Quick.

I still have to remind all the Kings fans - do you not remember all the conversations from other teams about Quick in the playoffs and how difficult it is to beat him? The guy just has a strong will and is able to bounce back from bad games.

We also could have told you that he would win against Nashville last night. I don't know what it is with him and the Preds, but he's basically invincible against them.

I am real happy for him. He's so relaxed that I thought playing for Toronto wouldn't phase him at all and so far it hasn't.

I must say I do root for Toronto know, which is a rather weird feeling.

I think Frattin has been alright for us. Practically the whole team is a minus at the moment, once the team turns things around, that will correct itself, but Frattin has been doing a lot of the little things right and has been producing. He isn't a star sniper or anything, so I wouldn't expect some flashy player you notice all the time. The fact that he has been invisible on this team so far is a good thing, it means he has made less mistakes than many other forwards.

I think JB will be the best helmet-era goaltender in the history of the Leafs while in a Leafs uniform.

I love the Bernier is doing well. We knew this guy was worth a lot more than we were going to get but I certainly don't blame our GM for that. If anything maybe it will be a wake up call for the rest of these idiot teams that passed on him because 'Omg, a 2nd liner for a goalie?! Impossible!'

If anything, Bernier is just proving us all right. The guy never complained when he was made backup behind Quick. He continued to play hard and work hard for us. He knew the circumstances, that Lombardi wanted to trade him but was trying to find a good deal. Good business all around I think. Now he's showing off the skill we all knew he had and winning the job in Toronto.

I'll always be happy with Quick but I also enjoy seeing Bernier prove the haters wrong :)

Leafs fans in a few months you'll be able to trade Reimer to Philadelphia for a huge return.

Not sure why the Flyers decided that they didn't need Bernier.

Because they think all they need is a great offense problem is that's gone south now to so their team has gone STRIGHT to hell.

Over/under on how many more "you guys were right" threads from Leafs fans before the end of the year?

Since the Lombardi era began, we've been exposed to good defense and good goaltending. We all laughed at every single Leafs' fan who suggested Bernier wouldn't steal the starting position from Reimer. We knew what we had in Bernier.

Hey, I'll take it. I like that many of them aren't too proud to admit it!

March 13th--I hope I can give Bernier an ovation in L.A., then wreck his save percentage.

I'm not to proud to admit it cause I also knew he'd get it. You don't trade for a new guy then pay him more than the current #1 if he's not being pushed as the #1

Honestly, I think it is an awful trade. Lombardi's hard on for Frattin got the better for him.

We should have dealt Bernier for a 1st rounder pick.

4 games in Frattin has already been demoted to the 3rd line spot which Toffoli could be playing in. We added another grinder who can't produce.

I hate the Bernier deal not because we traded him but because of what we got. We added to a position of depth (RW) and took away a spot from a rookie.

Kings are loaded at RW....Brown, Williams, Carter, Toffoli, Nolan, Lewis all play or can play RW.

Just read an article by LeBrun today that included Lombardi's thoughts on the Bernier trade. He still hates that he had to make the trade but he said that Nonis was the only GM that was actually serious about making a trade happen. It puts Lombardi in a tough position. Bernier's contract was up, Bernier knew that his role would be secondary to Quick and requested a trade. Then when Lombardi starts making the rounds, he ends up with just one serious trading partner. Even if you aren't liking the Frattin acquisition, he still managed to get a cheap and serviceable back-up and got some cap space from the deal.

Frattin kind of fell of the radar after he returned from his knee surgery but he won't be the kind of player that frustrates you because you think he forgot to show up to play the game. He's a workhorse on the ice. Maybe give him some more time to adjust to his new linemates and system.

I highly doubt the Kings couldn't land a 1st for him. Edmonton, Toronto, Florida, Islanders and Philly were all looking for goalies this summer. Each added someone to be a starter or back-up and most of those teams had the assets to make the deal.

I don't think the offers were that serious, I think you are overestimating the demand for Bernier at the time as well. We did get a good pick in a 2nd rounder in the deal and also a decent backup goaltender and a good winger in the process. Can't really fault the deal, Dean got fair value given the circumstances.

Exactly why trade your biggest asset for a RW? DL brain fart on this one. He just should have held out for better. We would have Toffoli or Pearson playing right now and Bernier still as a backup. We have to start letting some of these young forwards with top 6 potential play instead of rotting in Manchester.
