I would gladly give a guy that will be as effective for 2-3 times longer, money over an old ass fading player that has been more than likely carried by the overall talent base in SJ than he has had any real part in those players success.

Boyle will be a disappointment here even at the (today's) paltry amount of 4.5

If you would look at the statistics instead of just being angry at the signing, you'd find out this is false.

What's interesting is you don't hear the Rangers name being floated around as "in" on any FAs. We're negotiating with Moore, and we're negotiating with Carcillo. That's all I've heard.

I want to hear we're in on Skille and D. Moore.

Looks like we really are letting kids fill out the roster.

But is the personnel that much better? MSL, Stepan, Kreider, McDonagh, and then theres Nash. People always seem to sell our own players short and yet we just came out of the SCF

Pavelski, Couture, Thornton and Marleau are hands down MUCH BETTER than what we are sporting.

Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie
CGY signs Jonas Hiller to two-year deal with AAV of $4.5M.

Not bad for the Flames.

Vanek, Moulson, Moore, Stralman, Boyle, Mitchell, Niskanen, Iginla, Ott, Legwand, Alfreddsson, Carter, Volchenkov, Richards, Gleason, Mitchell

I am hopeful Sather has a couple of trades to help fill out the lower lines. Names have been dropped all over the place. Connolly. Morin. etc.

Still no info on Brad Richards

eh, i take it as an expression of confidence in their defensive depth throughout the system.

clearly the organization thought it had enough talent to replace stralman within a few years , with someone likely still on their ELC or at worst their first RFA contract.

“@NYP_Brooksie: Boyle agent George Bazos tells Post: "We told teams that if Rangers made offer, decision wasn't going to be about money."â€

Great to hear.

I hope we're at least inquiring about Carter and a guy like Brian Gibbons. Both would be nice guys for the 4th line who could likely come cheap and even slot up to the 3rd if necessary.

Okay man, be angry. I think everyone is done hearing about your whining. No one is jumping for joy over Dan Boyle but it isnt the worst move. He is a ranger and thats it. Support him or be a negative nancy and support another team.

What's false? that Stralman is going to be more effective over the next 4-6 years?

Or that the forwards in SJ carried Boyle thsi past season to a whopping 30+ points?
