Rumor: JTM Trade Thread: Why did JT Miller bring a suitcase to practice?

Offers are low.

Close up shop with Miller trade talks and revisit in the off-season

-Hopefully he has a dominant 4Nations tourney to up his value and show his worth
- Couple more teams choke these playoffs and waste another cup window year

Then see what the offers are in the summer when the cap is higher, teams have more cap space.
The problem with that strategy is that the issue in the locker room will persist. Pulling the plug on the trade is probably pulling the plug on the season.

Lotsa changes are needed beyond the Miller trade especially with the Dmen. The Miller trade wont fix that, this season is what it is. Miller isnt going to be sold for 30 cents on the dollar just to salvage this season.

I wouldnt be surpised if this dragging on did have something to do with Mr Blueberries.
Every time he has meddled its gone wrong.

Necas + Morrow does not get you a 100 point Centre.

Nobody is trying to sell Miller as if hes a 100 point player. It would take waaay more than Necas + Morrow if that was the assessment of JT Miller which it is not.

I think Necas + Morrow is right around the value of Miller..

Like i said, 1st, young player, B+ Prospect

Necas has had a great 48 games, but i dont think that has changed Carolina or Necas's mind. Both of which wanted to part ways with eachother last year.
How is Miller considered a hundred point center, when he's only done it once in a 14 year career?
Not saying he isn't good, but I'd think his career would have to be looked at, not just his best year.

Rangers are 8-1-3 in the new year. Can't imagine they are as desperate as they were before to make a drastic move. They seem to be turning it around.

Hes not considered a 100 point player, thats my point.

If considered him a 100 point player , i would have waaaaaay higher expectations of return than Necas +Morrow.

Miller should be sold as a power forward, elite playmaker, sandpaper to play against. Probably point per game for 2-3 more years.

Young Roster Player, 1st round pick, B level prospect. ( Way below value of a 100 Point Player)

Sure, but I have a feeling your expectations of what "B prospect" and "Young roster player" look like are not going to lineup with reality.

99 in 80 games doesn't give him a pass in your books huh.

Miller is the type to tell his agent: I'm not leaving for anywhere but NYC, and then not budge and yell at his agent everytime he brings up Carolina or Jersey. Rangers obviously offered dogshit, and Allvin had to hang up and move on. Canucks and Rangers are now playing chicken with their respective seasons. If the Canucks can turn things around before the deadline, that probably helps Miller's trade value. Or if Miller has a big Four Nations. If Rangers go on a skid, it probably helps Miller's trade value. If Canucks' problems continue to get worse, then the Rangers think they'll get Miller for their bad offer. Canucks are also hoping Miller gets desperate and waives, but I imagine Miller is thinking "this is why I signed an NTC, I have every right." Canucks probably have to look seriously at moving Petey, and keep the media out of it.
The Rangers already did turn it around from when they allegedly made an offer for Miller. They aren't in as desperate of a situation to make a big shakeup as they were before.

Vancouver doesn't really hold any cards here. With every passing day it is getting more and more likely that the rumor of Miller only waiving for NY is actually true. That locker room is a dumpster fire right now.

Only problem is Drury is a imbecile of a gm and still might get fleeced. Look at the kakko trade return horrendous.

Rangers before Kakko trade - 9% chance of making playoffs
Rangers after Kakko trade - 9-5-3, 61.4% chance of making playoffs

Seattle before Kakko trade - 13% of making playoffs
Seattle after Kakko trade - 6-9-1, 2.6% chance of making playoffs

Not saying there is a common theme in any of this, but......

Yea but the return of kakko was putrid I doubt borgen had a major impact on the turnaround my instincts saying its shesty being healthy and solid. They had a great asset that probably could have been used for miller but they dumped for it a nickel and a penny.

He’s having a rough year this year, but are we really going to split hairs when the guy has averaged 96points a season over the last 3 years (while missing only a couple games)?

Heard a rumor JT is now following a bunch of Canes players on social media and also some real estate folks in the area. If true it sounds like its probably a done deal he is going to Carolina.
