Very talented player, but he has to want it more than his internal competition. Not the first time in his young career that attitude has held him back.

And did nothing of note. That's the issue I have with Roy. He has the skill, the shot, and the IQ. But all that is meaningless if you're not putting in that extra effort. A guy in his spot, who doesn't have a spot has to do more to earn it.

You look at Heineman and you see what I mean. He's making sure to be noticed when he's on the ice, whether it's a hit or a forecheck.

I didn't say he played well...and I totally expect him to go back down once Laine is cleared.

I wish he had a dynamic element to his game, it's always harder for the more cerebral players to find a niche in the NHL, especially when they don't have one dominant tool to rely on. His reads and vision are both really good, but he needs to be on a line with guys who can really drive the plays.
