I personally wouldn't scratch Dach after he spoke following last game, see if he can walk the walk after challenging himself but if next game doesn't go his way and the effort isn't there, I'm all for giving him a break to breathe.
I don’t like that precedent at all. When Drouin was late for a meeting but took full responsibility, did we excuse him? No of course not. I know Dachs your guy but his effort level has been putrid all season and it’s not due to his injury. He should definitely sit at least one game. Slaf should also join him too but I doubt they’d both get scratched at the same time.

Well this will do absolutely nothing while only hurting Laval. I thought Hughes said the idea was to let guys develop in the ahl?
This is really weird as Pezz hasn’t played in weeks, RHP’s conditioning stint will be over Saturday I believe and Laine is practicing.

Have fun playing under 10 minutes Josh.

So much for first place in the ahl.

Maybe they are showcasing him for a trade, that could make sense because outside of last game, he was far from deserving a call up....

Don't like this move at all, he has a habit of settling and getting comfortable and the hard work stops. Best to learn how to be a pro down there, and reward him at the end of the year.

You could literally say this about all players on the team not named Hutson, Gallagher, Guhle, Evans and Heineman this season.

This is the most lackadaisical Habs team I’ve seen in a while.

Roy is such a tough case, if you go by stats, 100% he's the guy to call up as leads the team in points and tied for the lead in goals. But his effort has been a mixed bag at best, much of the game he's barely noticeable but then the puck is in the back of the net or he creates a scoring chance as his hands are excellent and he has a real feel for the puck to go with impressive vision.

Just wish he played with more pace, get his nose dirty a bit more, plus he struggles carrying the puck as he's easy to catch and doesn't often have the strength to fend off so he has to get rid of the puck quickly.

I'm not a fan of how they have handled him but at the same time I'm not really sure what you do with him as the skills are 100% legit but the physical side of it, speed, skating, strength, pace, energy need work.

The timing is terrible as Laval has a serious problem with a lack of goal scorers and their next game is against one of the best teams in the league with some very tough games on the schedule for the next 2 or so weeks.

It seems like it’s a similar case to last year then but he ended up looking at his best in the NHL. Frankly, I’m more on the side of trading him while he still has good value since I don’t think we will tolerate and be patient with his flaws.

No but there isn’t a better option for a 13F who will keep his mouth shut play the occasional game but keep acting like a 100% pro at all times

And not being a threat to take the spot of other players not performing,, wouldn't want those guy's being afraid of losing their confortable place in the line up.

Roy is a Luc Robitaille type player stylistically. He's never going to be a physical player no matter how much we may want him to be. But he's got great hands and can score goals.

From a big picture standpoint, I love the skill we have coming in. It's awesome. But we are lacking grit and size in the top six. Slaf has it. Dach used to have it... and then that's about it. We'll need to address that going forward because it's just not a good mix from that standpoint.

I think sending him down should be motivation enough. He needed a kick in the ass and he got it. Let's hope this lights a fire under him.

I don't think he has much value as I'm sure the scouts watching him in Laval after being sent down saw the same issues. I also don't think they would trade him as he's the kind of player they need to show they can actually develop into a solid NHLer since we all know the skills are there from the start.

I have heard talk about the Jackets looking at a move, I wonder how much pull Timmins has as I assume he would be interested in a few of his former picks. I think it would be a bad look to trade Roy since he's a local, young and for a rebuilding team it would seem a bit odd to give up on him unless they know something we don't. That said at some point some moves will have to be made as the roster is just not very impressive and you can't have all these young players with a shit ton of picks just made + incoming.

I think he does have decent value. He’s producing very well for his 2nd AHL season and he’s one of the youngest players of his draft class. Maybe could be the secondary piece in a Jiricek trade.

Robitaille is an interesting comp, he does remind me a bit of him. He doesn't need to be physical other then I'd like to see him engage more, play with more pace but it matters more what his teammates think of him. Watching him in Laval I have a had time with him as he can be extremely frustrating at times and then out of no where he's got 2 or 3 points.

That said it's also a treat to watch him shoot or pass the puck, just so skilled but at times he looks like he doesn't give much of a shit.
