If we had a contending team, we wouldn’t be talking about them because we’d be contending.
Every team has bad contracts, every team has great contracts, it’s not what makes team successful or not.
The Anderson/Gallagher contracts are objectively terrible and will remain so until they expire no matter what they do, but they’re more than offset by the amazing value the Habs are getting out of Suzuki and Caufield’s contracts and guys like Hutson on ELCs, etc.
As I said, it’s all relative. Last year that’s all people talked about was how much of an anchor their contracts were, this season, you hear nothing.
