Josh Anderson was criticized by me a few times during these playoffs but his efforts in the finals were impressive.

He has the tools to dominate.

Honestly maybe against the Jets but other than that I thought he played pretty well against the Leafs and stepped up against Vegas and Tampa!

He was great the last two games. Being a big fan of his from his Columbus days, I was disappointed in his play for a good chunk of the playoffs. He made up for it at the end there.

The only thing I want to see next season is some refinement in his defensive game. He got caught dozens of times this season defending up high near the point. A little sloppy for my liking.

i hope whoever is the GM for the habs remembers him being useless for 95% of the playoffs and not the 5% he was good, that contract is already ugly but his value is still high, the most sensible thing is to trade him for a kings ransom, same thing with Weber. Unfortunately, Bergevin should he continue to be the GM is a coward

Stepped up when it counted. I like the player a lot but man he could be a star player if he had higher hockey IQ. He does the same move every time.

I think this is unfair to Anderson. Change the word “useless” to “unproductive” and you would have a point but he definitely brought a strong game for most of the playoffs. He had weak games, just like most players do but he was far from useless.

That being said, it’s always worth listening to offers but I wouldn’t be tripping over myself to trade him away because he is an interesting player with some good untapped potential if he can find some more consistency .

He was/is shit and his contract sucks so we should trade him for a king's ransom. Some solid logic there pal, you will fit in nicely around here.

Anderson will be a lot more dangerous next year if we could add a D or two who are strong puck movers. When our D are able to hit him with a pass at full speed in the neutral zone it is almost impossible for the other team to stop him.

The habs did change their strategy in the playoffs. We saw guys blowing the zone early on purpose, and the defense was actively looking for them rather than going up the wall all the time.

Maybe that's more of a permanent mark now since the playoffs was the first time ducharme had the time to put his stamp on the team.

But that style will mean more rush chances, which falls right into Anderson's strength, and like you said, adding a puck mover in the top 4 will only enhance Anderson's ability to generate chances as well.

Adding PMD\s is huge for the entire team, but expecially Anderson...
The guy gave it his all.......great player.

If Andy was consistent the other 95% of the time he’d be making $8M+...

There’s a reason he was a 4th round pick and not a top-3 overall in the draft...

Have to accept facts: on avg he will get hurt given style of play / miss 5/10 games per year, and is a 20-25G scorer - anything more is a bonus.

The hands aren't great. I think he's too fast for his hands to keep up. He will be valuable though and score a few.
Even if he doesn't score, he can lug the puck out and deep into their zone which takes the pressure off when we are hemmed in our zone for so long it seems and change momentum.

People ignore the fact that he was with KK and Byron for most of the playoffs, which is not good line construction. They were coached to not take offensive chances. Two speedy north-south wingers should be getting multiple breakaway pass attempts from their centre every game. That is just not how the Habs wanted to play. So they had to generate chances on the rush as a unit but you have a centre who holds on to the puck too long and two wingers who are awful passers.

It makes sense why he worked with Suzuki and Caufield because then his role was to just hit and create turnovers and let the other two drive offence, which they are elite at.
