Is there a market for him? I think some teams would call about him with 50% retention. Back to Florida? Why not re-unite him with his buddy Barkov. Johnny needs a change of scenery and the Flames need to move on from him.

At 5.25M, even if he only puts up 60pts on his new team, that's decent value.

I thought last year was maybe a tough go with Sutter but here we are a year later and it's not good.

Whether people like him, or not, retaining 50% on his now 7 years left plus this one is still worth a lot for that long of a hit.

Not sure a team would pay what that type of retention is worth just to acquire him.

You also have to remember that in 3, or 4 years the team acquiring him might buy him out, so the Flames would be stuck with a lost retention spot for over 10 years

Don't think Zito and Huberdeau are best of friends anymore after that whole trading Huberdeau to CGY thing happened....apparently at 11pm at night....so ya, scratch Florida off the list.

If Flames can work a deal with 3rd team so Huberdeau is 75% retained and they send us few picks. We'll take him
