So now that banner in the ACC makes sense :P

While the league may badly want to expand overseas, no one wants the current balance upset in the United States. Thus, no one wants the Bills to move (far). Bon Jovi can promise that.

He’ll need help with the asking price — Tanenbaum can help with that. He’ll need help building and financing a state-of-the-art stadium — Leiweke and MLSE can help with that.

Tanenbaum, Leiweke and MLSE need someone with the red-white-and-blue bonafides to steer the team over the border — Bon Jovi can, in turn, help with that.

The speculation runs like this. Bon Jovi works his relationships within the NFL — among his other go-to golf buddies are Patriots owner Robert Kraft and Cowboys owner Jerry Jones — to get the inside track on the Bills. He elicits sympathy (and perhaps even a small discount) by promising to keep the team within its traditional boundary — upstate New York and southwestern Ontario.

In Bon Jovi and Leiweke, Toronto now has two members of that small club.

It’s far too early to say that Toronto is getting an NFL franchise, but it can now be fairly said that Toronto has the inside track on one.

If it happens it would be wonderful! I personally don't like watching football at all, but that's mainly because the NFL>>>CFL and I don't root for any NFL teams.

CFL fans are not worried abouth this scenario at all. Its laughable to most of them. Toronto is a once a year booty call for the NFL. And even those Bills in TO games are choc k full of free tickets

There's a massive difference in a NFL team showing up in your city once a year to play a game vs the city having its very OWN NFL team.

Toronto has so many sports fans that wouldnt go to a Bills NFL game but once Toronto got its own team they would be there every game.

Theres also the fact that they wouldnt be playing the games at the crappy Rogers center and they would have there own stadium.

Would love an NFL team. The CFL blows and I will never understand why anyone feels we're obligated to the league because it has Canadian in it. I wanna watch the best players in the world, not second or third rate players.

I don't even care. I already have an NFL team to root for. If Toronto gets an NFL team, then fine I guess. People don't want to support the local team that's here already, fine. Let the babies have their bottle.

It would be a novelty to have an NFL team but can it not be the Buffalo Bills?

I like watching the NFL, but my problem has always been I have never been able to find a team to root for. A Toronto team would probably change that.

I detest football, and this wont change a thing.

What it will change is how much I have to listen to the local AM radio stations blather on about football, taking away from interesting sports talk like hockey.

What makes Rogers center crappy :(

Getting an NFL team would be the 2nd best thing to the Leafs winning the Cup IMO but it just seems too farfetched.

If LA can't get a team, I doubt Toronto is getting one any time soon.

I don't even particularly like football but that's only because there's no team that I want to root for. I would start to learn more about football and start to like it if Toronto got an NFL team. We would need a new stadium first as Rogers Center isn't capable of being an NFL stadium. To be honest though, I just don't see Toronto getting an NFL team right now, especially before LA but I do think we would get one before London. Still, if Toronto got an NFL team, I would be ecstatic.
