Dube was struggling to get ice-time before the Toffoli trade. He was getting healthy scratches several times, thereafter. Now Calgary has acquired Jarnkrok. It seems to me that Dube isn't really a great fit for a 4th linter, and part-time player. Especially when he carries a 2.3aav cap-hit for the next two seasons.
Arizona could use Dube. They need players with term. They won't be attracting UFAs. That likely includes Larsson. Johan Larsson is a very good 4C. He plays a physically aggressive, high effort, defensive minded game. He hits, blocks shots, fights, PKs, and takes face-offs. He's a classic 4th line veteran warrior type. perfect for the playoffs.
The Yotes have had some luck rehabbing the careers of guys who were struggling to get opportunities elsewhere. Guys like Travis Boyd and Nick Ritchie have really made the most out of getting choice opportunities for a bad team without much depth or talent. Dube is only 23 years old, and could be a great reclamation project for the Yotes. They shouldn't mind the 2.3aav cap-hit, as they're rebuilding.
