Speculation: Joe Colborne

When Colborne's wrist is completely healed, maybe he can show Kessel, this is how you go into Boston, and play against the team that traded you.

Tyler Biggs would also show more backbone than Phil, Leafs fans will have the last laugh, with Joe and Tyler, just have to take our lumps because Phil is not the guy with the stones to show up against Boston.

showing up doesnt mean you have to be tough... Kessel has stones hes getting a bad wrap, hes not a physical player and is pretty awful at board play, but his playoff scoring record in boston shows that he shows up when it counts. Im not saying hes a playoff hero but so far he has done good in the post season and thats really when it counts.

As for Biggs, hes a tough kid and will be good against teams like Boston but Joe Colborne wont, hes not tough at all and doesnt win battles... Carter Ashton is the real kid to watch as hes got wheels size grit and heart.

He just has to show up, he almost never does in Boston, this is beyond a growing conern, you can expect it now. He doesn't even have to put a point up, but being afraid to be hit, not looking like you care, fumbling the puck in your feet, not even being able to accept a pass, all embaressing things, when the guy you were traded for plays lights out. There is something called pride, and you can't tell anyone that watched the game or the past 20 Kessel has had against Boston he has played with any semblence of pride.

.

His playoff scoring? Boston played Montreal both years, and that was at the height (no pun intended :sarcasm:) of their "smurfs" reputation. 7 of his 9 career playoff goals were against what at the time would have been considered probably the softest playoff team out there. In his other 7 playoff games against Carolina, he only scored in one game (got 2 goals that series).

To win the Cup, we're going to have to go through a physical defensive team at some point, and in a series like that, id prefer to rely on someone else.

Not to mention the Olympics, which has the best of the best at it, and is the highest pressure situation he's ever been in, he put up 1G and 1A in 6 games. Im just not convinced he's a "clutch" player. I think its very dependent on the type of team we'd be up against.

You said it best last night:

Kessel is a mercenary.

If he doesn't get the money he wants from the Leafs, he's going to the team that gives it to him. He would go to Columbus and rot their for 5 years for the extra million.

I wish Lupul was playing right now...he might not be as talented as Kessel but he does everything that Kessel doesn't.

I'd take 65 point Lupul over an 80 point Kessel.

People who dont think Coloborne can do what Grabvoski is suppose to be doing this season you are dumb.

What has Grabo done this season anyways to justify his 5.5 million contract ? I have been mad at him carring the puck in all by himself and doing nothing like why not play the youth ?

I was at a Marlie game 2 weekends ago and he looked pretty good. Almost back ti his pre-injury self. I like his game, but not sure where he could actually fit.

It should be

Bozak
Kadri
Colborne
McClement

Grabvoski has proven nothing this season to warrant continuing to remain the 2nd line Center

I'd argue lupul wouldn't hit 65 without kessel.
