Jill shorts - sizing issues

I had a pair of the blue shock doctor shorts and they fit fine. unfortunately, they've been washed about 150 times now and the seams are coming apart and the fabric is tearing.

So I replaced them with the black shock doctor shorts in the same size and they are way too tight - there is almost NO give in the black mesh. Specifically, it's in the quad area that it's tight. I can get them on, but they are definitely not as comfortable as the blue ones.

I'm thinking of trying the Bauer ones, but I'm not sure if they are going to be more stretchy like the blue shorts, or less stretchy like the black shock dr ones. the reviews aren't all that helpful in that particular area.

Has anyone tried these?

Of all of the mesh shorts that I've seen, none are stretchy. I would say return to a compression style, which fits closer, but is more 'stretchy' due to the material.

Check out WSI, I've had my jock from them for years now. They are compression but not nearly as tight and restrictive as Shock Doctor, plus they have silver antimicrobial liner so they never smell. I hated the Shock Doctor as, like you said, it had no give and felt small and uncomfortable.

I have the pink/white easton board shorts. They probably run a size smaller than what they say they are, but luckily I picked the right size anyway. I like the loose fit of the board shorts style.

both the Bauer and the Reebok shorts are sized bigger than the blue ShockDoctors. in other words, if you're wearing a size L in the ShockDoctors you can probably fit into a M in the Bauers and Reeboks.
