What's the point of even bothering to follow them when the org cares more about Deifying Sullivan (that's "Deify", not "Defy", for the fast readers out there) and placating his ego than anything else?

It's seriously coming off like the only thing that matters to them is propping up Sullivan no matter how much everything falls apart.

Sullivan gots to go!

I am so sick of the Canadian media feeling sorry for Crosby. What about US? What about the people who still care? The ones posting on this board who have not yet checked out? What about us? And I am sorry, no sympathy for Sid, Geno, Letang, EK or anyone responsible for this abomination of a head coach to still be in charge.

Any one of us could do what Sullivan does. Letang back in the lineup? Oh, insert him next to Grz. Why? Because that is what we did before, and there is nothing in the league standings to suggest it was bad, right? Nothing happening on offense? Oh, I know. Insert Rust onto Crosby's line because everything begins and ends with Line 1.

The top guys continue to play 20+ minutes and they continue to get destroyed. Shocker.

Tonight against Utah? Well let's see, Puustinen back in so we will scratch Poulin for him. There is no other option. Or maybe Ponomarev. Graves and St. Ivany will draw back in, maybe. Probably just one of the two. Pickering, your time has come. Besides, we need the roster spot for the return of Kevin Hayes, yo. So both Poulin and Pono will sit.

The top six and top four will remain the same, maybe shuffled around. Because that is what this cancer of a head coach has been doing since 2018.

THIS is what I want to see tonight, even though there is zero chance of it happening:

Puljujarvi-Crosby-Poulin
Bunting/Beauvillier-Malkin-Ponomarev
Rakell-O'Connor-Rust
Hayes-Acciari-Puustinen

Pickering-Letang
Graves-Karlsson
Pettersson-St. Ivany

Hayes activated, Shea waived. Grz and Nieto scratched.

This has about as much of a chance at happening as winning the lottery. The money one not the draft one.

If Pens lose the next number of games, Dubas will have little choice to sh** can Sullivan and begin the purge. All for it actually. Rebuild can still be done on the fly.

„I’ve got so much respect for Sid. It’s tough to see what he’s going through here. But at the end of the day, we’ve got a job to do and we got it done.”

Scott Arniel, Winnipeg‘s Coach
Holy shit! Is this a real quote! Someone should rub it in Sid’s face, someone should try to make intervention and get him out of this cult, brainwashed in “we have done some good things, there is a fine line between winning and losing, we need to be better” and all that BS he got etched in his mind by this supreme cult leader

Penguins' Sullivan not concerned about job security

Why would he be concerned?? Our cluelessly pathetic org thinks he’s a god for f*** sakes…

I swear he’s either blowing someone to keep his job, or he has MAJOR dirt on someone.

How else can you explain this fraud having 100% job security despite years of gross incompetence???

Either way…we’re f***ed

Send us digest version, I am curious… man he sucks at his job but seem untouchable’s
Not the whole article, but read it and weep lol…

“Sullivan was asked if he’s concerned about losing his job.

“I’m not concerned about it, no,” he said. “I’m well aware of what I signed up for. It’s the nature of the business. My main focus is trying to do what I do every day, applying a certain process I’m comfortable with to win games. I’ll bring everything I can to the table every day to help this team win, until such time when someone tells me otherwise.”

There is little question this season has affected Sullivan. He is known around the Penguins’ players and front office members for his legendary competitive streak. No one likes losing, but Sullivan hates it with a particular passion.

His team has been doing a lot of losing this season.

“I think I’d be lying if I said it doesn’t bother me,” Sullivan said. “I take a lot of pride in what I do.”

Sullivan is sensitive to the idea that he never makes adjustments. That, he said, is anything but true.

In terms of lineup deployment, Sullivan has been doing everything in his power to ignite his once-great team. At one point, Erik Karlsson and Kris Letang were both removed from the top power play. Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin were placed on the same line for a two-week stretch, something Sullivan has never done. The lineup has been different almost every night.

And then there are the strategic adjustments.

“There has been a narrative in Pittsburgh that there haven’t been adjustments to our team game or our tactics,” Sullivan said. “It’s quite the opposite. I won’t bore you with details. But there’s been a whole lot of change in how we’ve approached the way we do everything, from details to how we play in all three games, on both sides of the puck.”

Sullivan doesn’t appear to have lost his locker room. His players routinely praise him, on and off the record, and that hasn’t changed.

“He’s been great,” Marcus Pettersson said. “He’s so steady, so honest with us. He’s so direct. Tells you what you need to do better, what you’re doing well. We have total respect for him.”

“I ask hard questions of myself and my staff all the time,” he said. “I wouldn’t be doing my job if I wasn’t asking those questions. Now, do I doubt myself? The answer is no. I have a strong belief in how I go about my job every day. I have unwavering belief in that process.”

Sullivan will keep doing things his way, critics be damned.

“I think it’s important as an individual in our business to have strong convictions,” he said. “If I don’t have strong convictions, then I’m not deserving of being in this seat. I understand when a team doesn’t have success, then the critics are going to come out. That’s what we all sign up for and that’s OK. But if I were to read every time that happened, we’d be all over the place with respect to how we go about our day-to-day work. So, I do hold myself accountable. That never changes.”

Sullivan said he will continue to hold himself and his team accountable. He doesn’t know any other way and he believes that, if he and his players remain on the same page, everything will turn around in Pittsburgh.“

No one is asking him it’s been 6 years,, it’s as if everything was fine until now, that’s what I don’t get, actually I think I do. People sometimes like to be f***ed by a cult leader

Now, do I doubt myself? The answer is no. I have a strong belief in how I go about my job every day. I have unwavering belief in that process.

Yes Mike, we know!
It hasn’t been working for six years but unwavering belief will take us on the right path

The lack of self awareness here is almost comical if they weren’t destroying my favorite sports team since childhood.

"I shan't bore you with the details of my profound coaching wizardry, peasants, it's all quite over your heads, anyway." Sure easier than giving any sort of, you know, actual explanation.

"Doesn't appear to have lost his locker room" - nice weasel wording. And we all know that everything is about appearances.

The last two quoted sentences above are quite a juxtaposition. Will do his things way, everyone else be damned, but he will continue to hold himself accountable. 2024-speak.

The handmaidens in the press working hard to diffuse or deflect any criticism, as usual.

Dude loves the stink of his own shit, and so do FSG and Dubas. Gross.

I hope they continue to lose so much and so badly that they have no real choice at the end of the season but to fire him. But you never know with this dogshit organization.

We're really gonna watch as this team turns itself fully into the Sens or Sabres, huh? I mean, they've got the losing part down, but they're dysfunctional and incompetent to match.

I honestly don't get what is going to get them to fire him.

Every game is an embarassment that would get other coaches fired.
