On the positive side, drafting a franchise player is literally a possibility this year

On the negative side, there's no reason to have confidence in whatever is going on regardless
I kinda want them to sell more now to get going towards that

Worried they will have 2 hot streaks in doldrums of season and we will draft 14th again

Sittin' at drafting 4th overall now based on points% with two of the three teams below the Pens having two games in hand.
Tank. I want the penguins to be in the top three after the lottery.

BTW here's that Hayes to Gruden goal that was a beauty. After a 5 on 3 kill no less. Wbs is coached so well whole the Pens are coached like trash.

Sign Hayes to a NHL deal.

I mean, what’s there to discuss lol…they suck and are poorly coached…the only thing worth discussing is why anyone shows up for their games and we spend so much effort banging our head on this forum lol
and what is going on in WBS and Wheeling.

Oh for sure. Martone or Misa is the best prospect this team will have had, on paper, since arguably Geno.

And call me a overly optimistic, but I think if this team absolutely tumbles down to a top-3 pick, they're firing Sully. (Let me f***ing dream you MANIACS.)

I like both players, but I love Porter Martone.

I need in the Spring of 2025 to cancel my DK membership. I don't know if this person was joking but below is what they typed in the comments. :scared:

"Three days off until next game. What will this team look like then? And who will coach them? Longshot...Sully to GM spot and Quinn takes over as HC."

Bourque on the radio was talking about how the 95ish points for the last playoff spot at seasons end is looking less and less likely.

You've got to love the optimism of even entertaining the thought of playoffs at this point. This team entered Jim Mora territory when they couldn't beat the Blackhawks to get in.

I really like Martone but guys labeled as power forwards always skeeve me out. They usually rely on size and strength to overpower the competition in Juniors but it's a whole different ballgame in the pros. That said, he's awesome. Might even overtake Hagens depending on how the WJC and the rest of the season shakes out. Misa is apparently a great skater, and has tons of talent, both passing and shooting.

Any of Hagens, Martone or Misa are phenomenal gets imo. Doubly, maybe triply so for this team and its prospect pool.

I'd take any one of those three players.

Getting embarrassed consistently.
If that is the plan, then at least it is a plan.

Painful plan though. At least as long as managements’ words and actions don’t actively underline that it is a conscious one.

Only objection to selling off whoever is that philosophically…. ethically… as a fan, I cannot abide the thought of seeing Sid or Geno traded while Sully is still the coach.

If either of them would like to be when he is not, whether we improve or don’t, I’ll live with it.
But either of them leaving while we should still suffer his mug…. That would destroy something permanently for me.

When the suckage began at the beginning of the season, I wasn't surprised and thought “hey maybe a top 10 pick wouldn't be so bad for this franchise”. But this is damn near top 3 if not 1OA type of play.

Just laughable that the FO refuses to do anything with Sullivan. It won't help too much but holy hell what a leash.

I have no problem with completely nuking this roster. That's because they can't get much worse if at all with whoever they plug in.

As others have said, this isn't a team that is going out there every game and competing but simply doesn't have that next level to acquire points.

This team is routinely going out there and getting totally dominated against the top teams in the league. There has been at least 5-10 games already where if the teams played another 10 games, the Penguins wouldnt win a single time.

It sucks but keep Sully and ride guys like Beau, Bunting and Grz from here on out. Keep Blomqvist in the minors. Dump what you can for what you can get at the TDL. Fire Sully the moment the RS is over so he doesn't have any say on the draft or the off-season (mainly keeping Rust once his NTC drops July 1st). Move guys like Rust and EK in the off-season.

Take your Martone or Misa this draft. Pray for McKenna next year, then Dupont the year after.

It'd be the quick turnaround everyone wants, and it'd make the hockey world at large absolutely f***ing livid--which is a huge bonus.

Pens seem to be pretty solid in the second of back to back games this year, for whatever reason. I'm sure they'll f*** things up and snag a point or two against Utah--just because.

Hope not, though. Crumble. Anybody who is a fan of the team should be rooting for losses. Bad losses. It's the only way there's even a chance anything changes, mainly with Sullivan.
