Leafs have surprisingly owned the Jets the last little while (6 games?). If they think they can play like they've played the last few games and get a positive result, they'd be sadly mistaken.

Haven't heard if AM is playing or not, although, I'd be shocked to see him suit up.

Last game before Xmas so I'll get in my usual greeting; The Leafs Navidad.

Right now we have a large number of passengers. If 10 show up each game we cannot win.
Berube was concerned about guys like Robertson 3 weeks ago. Now the list consists of guys like Knies, Marner, Reilly, Benoit, McMann, the Swedish flash,. Reaves has come dressed as a hockey player when that is not his job.
When AM was injured a few weeks ago you could see a team first culture develope. Suddenly it is gone.
Tonight is a test to see if we can get it back, or does that sinking feeling continue.

Normally I would thoroughly enjoy this time for a game, and make a Manhattan or two, but I have caught the first cold I have had in freakin' years.
Oh well, I could pretend the drink is my Nyquil and just doze off......

Hope we win but smart moneys on Winnipeg
do we have Murray in net or Woll? Neither looked spectacular in their last outings. I am guessing Woll.
Not that it matters. Heavily favour Winnipeg, so expect a shutout by whomever we put in net.

I don't believe AM is playing, Treliving is more than happy with our roster and thrilled that Kampf will be playing second line centre in AM's place.
After all, he signed Kampf to a 4 year deal with limited no trade provisions.
Kampf must have pictures of the entire sports organiztion board to get a crazy deal like that.
sigh.

I am confused. Are you saying McMann and Nylander have been passengers lately?

Not Willie, the real Swedish flash, Holmberg. And yes McMann had 3 good games, watch and see him disappear again.
Point is team first of 3 weeks agohas gone. How long will Lorentz block all those shots when others play flamingo.

I have some patience with McMann. He is just getting back from injury and in fairness he is not a star. He will have little outbursts and then go quiet for awhile.

Matthews believe or not leads all forwards in blocks so it would be tough for Lorentz to stop. Or he could just look at Tanev.

They have not played great as of late for sure. Hopefully just the ebbs and flow of a long season

I want them to play well, but AM is out, maybe for a long time and too many guys are taking time off. The all for 1 theme has gone. Other than Reilly the other night defending AM, I think the last major fighting penalty was Nov 5?
There just seem to be so many signs of a going through the motion group. It is a long season, I get that, but this team cannot score, does not score, so they better defend, protect their goalies, and fight for every inch of ice, every night. It is an easy fall from 1st to 5th. Especially without AM at his best.

Just win. Try to go 3-1 to end the month, the Caps game will be tough on a b2b without Matthews.

Has Murray been called back up? Any idea who's starting?

We're due for a loss against the Jets, especially with how clunky we've been lately. 3rd game in 4 days, likely no Matthews and an afternoon game... A lot going on.

But hopefully it's a good bounce back game?

Nothing posted yet, and I mean nothing!

This is on TSN... wonder who will be doing the pxp and colour? Gord and Mike are in Ottawa for the WJC... short flight though so maybe they are doing a back and forth...

Fingers crossed Joe gets the TV call. Little chance I know.

Aren't we undefeated in these next gen games? They usually end up being high scoring affairs in our favour I think.

Thank you good sir. I forgot this was an afternoon game. Would have missed it

I doubt it and would be disappointed if I missed that.
Bowen is calling the game with his son today, I would think that's radio only.

This one won't be easy. Leafs need to play boring hockey and just play good defence with shots on net for rebounds and dump and chase.

They need Woll playing up to par too. Last game he wasn't bad but he let in a couple I'm sure he'd like back but the defensive break downs were shit.

Hopefully they get a W.

Go Leafs Go

They've always been great games as I recall and yes, high scoring.

Not sure why Woll wouldn't start. A game against a top team without a back to back and 4 days off coming up... you play your top goaltender.
I would like Woll back in for sure and I would certainly start him if it were up to me but they do seem to rotate starts.
