Been saying for a few weeks, he's been probably in my top 5 MVPs for the Jets this year. Outstanding defensively, while facing the toughest competition on average among our D group, & probably the most chaotic partner. Bunch of posters on here apparently stan for Stan. I'm in on Dylan, appreciate the greatness he's provided this year.

I think with Stan its bit different. People are all figuring out how to process him but he is who he is which is a sheltered bottom pairing $1.25 million a year D man/project. If he slips on a banana peel our team doesn't skip a beat.

Samberg is night and day different IMO. He has emerged as a Slavin lite prototype modern shut down defender who we can use vs the best in the NHL if need be. I look at him as our second most valuable D man after Morrissey now and moving forward. Fortunately for us he is probably going to put up 20-30 points most seasons which will keep him affordable relative to his value. I know some would value Pionk more based on his ability to generate offence but I love having a big, skilled, mobile defender, who can move the puck.

How much discussion is there on Samberg's season or play compared to Stanley's? The stan for Stan crew should start paying attention to Samberg, an actual great defender.

Stanley derangement syndrome is a real thing. If you think HFBoards is bad try reading some of Murat's articles over on The Athletic. Murat wrote an article about trade targets at the deadline. The first fan comment reviewing all the options was:

"Honestly the biggest improvement is whoever pushes Stanley out of the lineup. The reliance on him is continuously baffling and really the only glaring weakness on this team. Thanks for another great article!"

That got 48 likes which I have never seen on a Jets article. There were 7 other posters who commented on that post. the next two posts were also criticizing Stanley and they got 28 and 13 likes.

I can't believe how much passion Stanley brings out in Jets fans.

Once the fans get done talking about Logan there seems to be very little oxygen for the other players.

If he could just improve his offensive blueline work he'd be near perfect, but I'm extremely happy we have him.

IF Helle learned how to handle the puck out of the net really well then I believe anything is possible

That is an element of his game I would like to see Dylan keep working on. He is not totally void of offensive talent but it would be great if he could find one more level (after his contract is signed of course).

I think Stanley is a player the Jets could have improved on over the last few years, and that he's gotten a lot of rope. He's also had some solid play mixed in here and there. He's also a bottom pair guy making not much more than minimum, so while it would be nice to upgrade, I'm not sure it's near the top of the priority list.

I would say though, that even if I would be ok with them moving on from Stanley, I do want to see Stanley succeed if only for Stanley the person. I hope he's never read or heard of any fan comments on him. He's just like anyone else, had a dream to play in the NHL and has done whatever he could to make it.

I honestly have more against players that hold their team hostage, or hold out for the bag and then suck over a guy making close to league minimum.

I suppose I mean who came in, made an immediate impact in the same playoff year
Statsny was also added to the strongest team we have ever had, prior to this season. I think the only player that really came in and threw off the team off was Hayes. Most fit in but didn’t move the needle.

He might just be too risk averse (I know I am) but if he could get better at sifting shots through to the net that would be a big improvement.
