Some flights are hitting 800 mph due to high winds —and landing early

One flight from Philadelphia to Doha, Qatar reached a max speed of 840 miles per hour, about 60% faster than typical.

Recent flights flying east experienced jet stream boost of more than 250mph, pushing plane to more than 800mph. More turbulence possible.

But west bound planes experienced headwinds, slowing speeds, increasing fuel usage.
