How much do you think he makes in his next contract? Seems he's a tough negotiator and every contract negoition with him seems to drag, so I wouldn't expect him to give an inch in the next contract. Do we think he cracks $10 million+ on a longterm deal?

I hope he takes 8/8 and sees how good this team will win and that he would help them win a cup.
He will ask for 10. Jersey offer 8 and they settle at 9.

I think the Tkachuk contract would be a good comparable. 8 x 9.5 makes sense to me. Judging from previous negotiations, he’s trying to maximize his value
That's why I think he only goes 4-5 years. A 4 year deal has him as a ufa one more time at 29 and he can cash out on a 7 year deal at a higher cap limit. Teams are also still willing to pay at 29.

Agree with this. 4-5 years would make sense. Any Devils player should be looking at Hughes's contract and comparing it to Colorado's success. A great young 1C signed at a level that helped them to build a cup winner. If Bratt signs for $8-8.5m for 5 years and lives up to that he'll make another $50m+ easily. If they are contenders or win a cup, it could be $60m-$70m.

I’m hoping for at least 5 years with a maximum of 9.5. Hopefully this year convinces him it’s worth taking a slight discount of 8.5-9 to help afford another top 6 piece this summer

Hoping to get him locked up for 8 x $9 or something like that

I think he will sign for something like 6 x $9.5 if he continues over a ppg for the rest of the year
