Jersey Sizing for Kids

Question, I need some help here. The sizing system of kids hockey jerseys confuses the heck outta me, and "youth small, medium, large" etc. doesn't help me much at all. What size should I get for a 4-5 year old boy and a 12-13 year old girl?

My 7 year old boy fits well in a youth medium and my 10 year old girl fits in a youth large.

I should add, this is with gear on.
