I'm kinda sick of the Isles making everything about money. why can't we just go back to the days where buying a ticket made you eligible to win one of these jerseys? I would kill to get that Tavares jersey but there's not a shot in hell that I could afford it. I get that the money goes to the Children's Foundation, but why not just have all money made from tickets/concessions go to the foundation instead, for just one game? Or announce that depending on the number of tickets sold, wang will donate up to $25,000, or maybe $50,000 if he doesn't want to give up a whole game's worth of profit. That would make sense to me...

It's one of the few things the islanders did right turned into one of the dumber ideas the islanders currently have

A lot of teams are doing this now as a way to raise money to their various charitable organizations. I don't have a problem with it because the foundations help various good causes. The Lightning do it also. Does it make getting Tavares or Stamkos jersey's harder to obtain? Sure. But the cause is right.

I agree with the cause, but my point is why not just have the ticket sales go towards the foundation instead. Maybe have it be a raffle that you can buy into. Like $10-20 for a chance, and maybe a little higher for a shot at a premium jersey(Tavares, Martin, etc.) Let's say that 10,000 chances are bought(not that much of a stretch, especially if they are sold prior to gameday). That's $100,000-$200,000 raised for the foundation. I'm just saying it's a more effective way of raising money while giving every fan a shot if they want it. Seems fair to me

Because it's a business. They're not going to just give a chunk of sales to a foundation/charity when they can have someone wear a jersey and sell it for a ton of money and just give them that. The raffle idea isn't bad but I'd realistically say 1,000 is a stretch let alone 10,000.
