One could make the argument that we're beating a dead horse here.

So be it. Discuss, if you so choose. We'll keep all the Swayman talk contained to this thread.

If you have nothing meaningful to contribute to the conversation, move along.

We will not have this devolve into thread hijacking and flaming of other posters.

@Gee Wally

We have numerous deletions and more in here. We know tension and emotions are high.
But you folks must simply stop taking personal shots at each. Stay to topic.

If not we will be left with no choice other than adding thread bans.

I believe someone posted in one of the earlier threads it wasn't a possibility as they were up against the cap and a 2 year deal would've had a higher AAV than a one year. Then lots of debate that Sweeney screwed up the cap the year before (2022) with the bonus structure of Bergeron and another player (can't remember the name) which counted against last year's cap (2023) which caused the cap situation.
Krejci was the other player.

I've just always loved cheering for the Bruins players who have poured their hearts out there, put the team first, always focused on wining.
Ullmark tried doing that and the team said "F U we don't want you. In fact, we're going to trade you right now before you can stop us, even though you say you want to stay with the team."

That's the kind of loyalty this front office has.

If Swayman asks for a trade do the pro-Swayman people turn into the anti-Debrusk people?

Sounds crybabyish to be honest, especially after you leaked (not said directly) that the Bruins GM is incompetent.
Weren’t you complaining about rumors that Gross was leaking things to the media? Weird how you haven’t condemned Neely for doing that, no?

I'd say the same about Neely and Sweeney acting emotional and unprofessional at press conferences. And let's not pretend like the Bruins front office doesn't have a history of leaking things about coaches and players after they let them go.

This seems ass backwards, since it was Camp Swayman that was turning to the media several times before the Bruins finally responded.

Rask had even better offensive support than Swayman did last year. The team scored 3.29 goals a game in the playoffs on that Cup run.

Last year they scored 1.74 goals per game.

Do you think getting 2x as many goals per game had something do with that Finals run?
What were Rask's numbers during that run?

It's not a leak if you say it in front of the camera. That's owning it.

Eh they had to choose between Swayman and Ullmark eventually.

Unfortunately, we've done this a few times over the years. Krug is another example.

We can't keep everyone and sometimes smart and hard business decisions need to be made

Sits for the year is actually impossible. Nobody should vote for it.

If Sway were to actually do that, he is the dumbest athlete in the NHL. And he'd deserve every bit of misery coming.

You fire your agent on the eve of Dec 1, and you sign.
Or you do what Nylander did in 2018 and deal with the GM directly to get a contract signed. However, it might not be an 8 year deal and you'll have to deal with that agent again when he's UFA. Then all bets are off as look at the contract Nylander got as a UFA. I read somewhere that Gross said the price was $92 million or he'd go to market so TML caved and offered it. Was that true or was Gross being Gross? We'll never know but we do know that TML weren't taking any chances.

I do know that Rask let in two goals in 4 games against a ridiculously loaded Penguins team in round 2.

Yes, I do. But his numbers were still much better than Swayman. And that’s got a lot more negotiating power than losing in the 2nd round.
