One could make the argument that we're beating a dead horse here.

So be it. Discuss, if you so choose. We'll keep all the Swayman talk contained to this thread.

If you have nothing meaningful to contribute to the conversation, move along.

We will not have this devolve into thread hijacking and flaming of other posters.

@Gee Wally

We have numerous deletions and more in here. We know tension and emotions are high.
But you folks must simply stop taking personal shots at each. Stay to topic.

If not we will be left with no choice other than adding thread bans.

I guess if you want to be in an echo chamber.

This Swayman thing is the same mentality here as the refereeing,,,the goalposts just always move....Gross fed Chiclets a bunch of stuff to make the Bruins look bad.....well yeah after the 10mil per season rumor the Bruins fed Keefe.... Gross is lying about the 64 mil dollar offer Cam wouldn't lie....what is that you say? It was 60 mil according to EF and 62.5 mil according to Servalli, Oh well Cam was just rounding up.....
None of that really matters now unless your feelings were hurt in the process.

I guess if you want to be in an echo chamber. Plenty of Bruins fans must have voted there because 58 pct say they should have traded Ullmark which makes no sense.

but you really didn't respond to the question i was asking except for "I guess if you want to be in an echo chamber".

why would either have a vested interest of anyone other then Bruins fans at this point. Only one maybe would be Sway if he plans to never play for a Bruins fan again.

this point has nothing to do with which side your personally leaning towards or "believe" didn't lie. This is just a point about why would they care about a national survey over a local one when the local is what pays the bills or makes your life a living hell if your the player that will be the new whipping boy.

I have an interest in peoples opinions as a whole not just a fanclub board. Not sure what to say

I don't think McAvoy is over paid, would I have liked to see him come in a little less of course, but overall I think he is where he should be. Having shoulder surgery has not helped him, and I do not hate Gryzlyck, but I think not having him as a partner will help his game.

I just hope there is no stoppage of play from either side, just not needed at this time.
Yea, getting stick with Gryz didn't help his game. But his play off game for the last series has been to be blunt.....lousey.

Not sure if there is any point to asking this since it seems the battle lines in here are hard and fast, but in seeing the Vasi comps being made in the thread, left me with a simple question: if the Bruins went into the playoffs tomorrow, who would you rather have in your net, Vasi or Swayman?

okay that's fine but your interest in other peoples opinion really add nothing to the conversation. so i will just move along.
I think the interest of people who follow hockey as a whole is an interesting scoreboard. They don’t have as vested an interest and don’t know every in and out. It matters. Otherwise why leak to Chiclets instead of someone local?

Probably Swayman due to him being younger and Vasi hasn't been good over the past couple of post seasons. Swayman is on the incline and Vasi could be declining.

Prior to the last two post seasons Vasi had an insane post season run of 25, 23 & 23 games played, won two cups and won 18, 16 and 14 games, all of which lead the post season. He won 48 playoff games in 3 post seasons.

I’d take Vasi now for sure. In 3-4 years I’d probably say no.

Bet the GM/coach survey would be 85%+ Vasi. And that’s not really a slight on Swayman - we’re not asking about him v Oettinger or Saros. It’s the Walrus.

Who would you rather have 4 years from now? 5? 6? 7? 8?

i can't answer as to why leak to chiclets. could be a million reasons from by doing national makes it look a little less like came from them vs doing it local to they just had easy access to someone there that wouldn't drop a source who knows.

But again if I am the Bruins Management all i care about is the Bruins fans. Even if it was 100% of everyone outside of boston was against management why would they care at all as long as the Bruins fans were on their side? Just like the Pats are hated all over the country other then new england why would they care at all?

Swayman again would have an interest in the Bruins fans opinion if he planned on staying here because that is who will either be supporting him every game or booing him and jeering him every time he lets in a goal.

is it interesting to look at what everyone else thinks. not to me but maybe to some but I don't really see it having any impact on negotiations which is what people that leak stuff hopes happens.

Of course not.

Do you think the Bruins' offer was too low so they opted for arbitration? First, we don't know what the Bruins' offer was. Second, as an agent Gross should know that most of the time arbitrators make their awards by splitting down the middle, ensuring that neither the team nor the player gets everything they want. Did he really think he could hit the jackpot for his client by going to arbitration??? I'd love to know what he told Swayman to get him to agree to it especially in light of Swayman's later comments on the process.
It's looking like Swayman was very unprepared for the arbitration process. Seems very naive about what is usually said in those hearings.

And that's fine. I'm probably 60-40 on Swayman just for being younger and coming into his prime and Vasi has really struggled the last two playoffs they've been in.

Playoff experience and having "been there", it's night and day Vasi by a country mile.

edit: I actually thought Vasi was like 33, that might change a few things, haha.

If the playoffs started tomorrow Vasilevskiy.

However if I could give either an 8 year contract right now it would be swayman

Today, Vasilevskiy.

Factoring in a long term contract, assuming Swayman comes in a bit cheaper, i go Swayman.

It’s not really worth it to analyze these things in a vacuum though. Too many variables.
