Intent to injure or attempted murder?

It's a shame this will be forgotten in a day or two only because there was no actual injury.

Saw it once, looks like a player I don't want to see play hockey anymore.

EDIT: watched it 20times - stance has not changed.

Should have set an example - Have to think if it were an NHL player involved, there would be some stink.

Should be a year suspension...for the official that only gave him two games!

I think he saw an opportunity to push him with his skate since the natural motion of his leg went up the boards anyway. Definitely worthy of a suspension, but I don't think Jeglic intended to cut his neck. Unsportsmanlike, sure. A year long suspension? Unwarranted.

That blade had every chance of digging itself into his neck.

Get that animal out of this tournament

The damage potential of pushing his skate into his face/neck region is goddamn severe. Dont defend this.

What did he think was likely to happen, then? That is like saying, Sorry, officer, I tried to push him with the knife, I wasn't trying to stab him.

The skate is not in his face, what are you talking about?

It's a dick move, not a criminal offence.

It goes into the space between his face and shoulder. I dont know what to tell you if you think thats not dangerous

Are you kidding me? His neck is far more sensitive to a blade than his cheek would be. This is well beyond a "dick move". What would you say if this same player did it again? This is by far the most egregious thing I've ever seen in hockey. He should be banned. I genuinely can't believe you said because it wasn't near his face it wasn't a big deal.

Attempting to use a razor-sharp object as a weapon towards someone's face/neck area is pretty criminal in my book.

If he did this to Eichel, it would be newsworthy. Heck, I would suspect Buffalo giving Jack a call to come home early. Meh tourney and some no namer is swinging knives around the head/neck area.

Having hard time understanding this. He is generally known to be a very nice non-conflicting guy in the KHL. Looking at the video it looks like there was intent, but looks often deceive...

Hands down the most bizarre discipline I've ever seen. That is a straight up criminal offense, but even outside of that... 2 games? What in the actual ****? This is something that warrants an organized sports ban or something along those lines, as was the case with this guy:

I'd be getting the police involved. I may sound hyperbolic, but I don't know how anyone can justify this. This type of incident is criminal, and should have no liberties taken with it "being in the course of a hockey game".
