Who takes over the mantle of most active GP without making the playoffs now?
Who takes over the mantle of most active GP without making the playoffs now?
It is Ristolainen. His ex-teammate Ristolainen has 776 games so far, not sure anyone else has more games without a playoff game
Agreed. I know he had a heavy contract, but up until a couple years ago he was scoring at a nice pace. Has had some streaky years sure, but some great ones tooI hope he does well. He’s a good guy who works hard and takes a lot of shit from fans for no particular reason. Kind of like Kessel before he went to Toronto and became a meme.
I haven't been able to watch much Oils hockey this year, he looks like a goal scorer who no longer scores from what I've seen of him, what's his role in the playoffs looking like?
Not that I got to watch all that many Oilers' games either, but whenever I did see him, he seemed to be among the most active players, yet for some reason the coach seems to hate him. Every random 4th liner got his chance next to McDavid or Draisaitl, but Skinner got shafted again and again. He would score a goal and look really good, and then sit the next game. He would look active and responsible on defense, and he would sit. He would get the odd moment with a star, they would look good, and he would get demoted to a lower line again so that some spare could take his place instead.I haven't been able to watch much Oils hockey this year, he looks like a goal scorer who no longer scores from what I've seen of him, what's his role in the playoffs looking like?
Would be funny if he's healthy scratched the entire playoffs however long that it is for the Oilers
3 more games for him to get hurt before the playoffsoilers are too beaten up to make him a scratch. Unless something happens he might only get 4 games. LAK will run over the Oilers this playoffs
Can think of quite a few reasons ...I hope he does well. He’s a good guy who works hard and takes a lot of shit from fans for no particular reason. Kind of like Kessel before he went to Toronto and became a meme.
It is Ristolainen.
For much of the season his defense has been awful. It has only been the last few months where he's actually put in more work defensively but yeah, for whatever reason the coach doesn't trust him enough still. Instead he trusts players like Connor Brown, Janmark etc because their 200 foot game is much better. But he's trying and that's all you can keep doing at this point. I hope he has a great playoffs. If anyone deserves it it's him.Not that I got to watch all that many Oilers' games either, but whenever I did see him, he seemed to be among the most active players, yet for some reason the coach seems to hate him. For the opportunities he actually got, he has performed quite well. It just seems such a waste to sign someone as top-six winger and then constantly not use him in that role though.
