Only information I have is word from my brother who has a co-worker who goes to the same physical therapist as some of the kings which is Ethan Moreau's brother.

He said that he gets inside info and that Carter has an abdominal issue and it's hard for him to shoot, which may be reason why Carter hasn't shown much in the shooting department lately.

My dog told me the same thing. Confirmation.

Wouldn't surprise me, he's one of the few who I felt floated through the last few games

I understand when people throw the "my brother, my co-worker" but my brother has told me stuff before from this guy who sees Ethan Moreau's brother before and was right, so just throwing it out there and I also put speculation in title as it may not even be true, but thought I'd relay it.

Hopefully it's not, want Carter to be 100% against Anaheim.

Yeah, I had noticed he hasn't been as involved offensively lately (still doing work on back checks and other important aspects) but if this is true about the abdomen issue, then it does make sense regarding his shot.

Yeah, but what's the injury status on Reggie?

Seriously though, it would explain his lack of shooting in recent games, but what can you do?

I have no idea on Reggie, Carter has still looked good defensively which is still just as important with Kopitar and Toffoli stepping up in the offense department.

We know somethings obviously wrong with him, all but 1 of the 7 games ended with a 3+ goal difference, 1 of Carter's 2 goals came from the only 1 goal game.

Meaning Carter only scored in 1 of the 6 blowouts.

Something must be wrong.

I know, probably shouldn't have been so harsh, I just couldn't resist.

I agree, Carter is definitely feeling himself out, something is wrong (probably physically) with him.

Regardless of your info/source the eye test seems to agree with the hypothesis. Something isn't totally right with Carts but at least he's able to skate and check.

grain of salt...but there is a something to that he was very quiet while we dismantled the guppies.

Hopefully he will be fine before the game. It seems more like a Foo issue too.

Sutter mentioned there are more then a few players banged up. In Sutter language it basically meant if this wasn't the playoffs, these guys wouldn't be playing.

It's natural for us fans to rip performances without understanding the full extent of the injuries. I think the new culture will ever use injuries as an excuse. We all know Sutter does not like disclosing anything lol.

My guess the players banged up:

Drew, carter, Richards, regehr

Brown has to be hurting after he fell in the last game.

Not worried about Carter. He was asked to play center and a defensive roll against some of the Sharks best players with Pearson/Toffoli. It would be nice to have him on the wing leading the rush, but shutting down the Sharks offense was more important.

Most players are probably "banged up" after an 82 games season and a 7 game series against the Sharks.

Carter looked just fine shooting on the power play.

Also very true--Carter has embraced a two-way center role and has looked freaking good doing it with the two kids. Anything to win--he's playing the role of Kopi Jr.

I buy it. In fact I commented on it in the PGT after game 6. He was dishing and receiving some real massive hits through the first three games. That's right when his game took a nosedive.

Everyone's banged up. War of attrition. Sadly the path to the conference final every year from now on means likely getting beat up by SJC and ANA prior.

Carter came back from an injury and took him a little bit to get going when the Kings made their Cup run in 2012. Let's hope he finds his groove starting in the 2nd round. Same with Richards. Those guys were forces against the Blues and Coyotes and Devils and were also strong performers in 2013 when Kopitar and Brown struggled.

I think Sutter having confidence in his players will help them fight through whatever funk they're going through. That's one reason why players love him, he's honest with them but he doesn't throw them under the bus, unlike a coach like Larry Robinson, who was always calling out players and eventually they all tuned him out.

Hopefully Richards' Game 7 performance can transfer into the next round because he was buzzing. His best game in a long time. Shame he couldn't bury a goal.

It may be more serious...

It's feeding him oxygen, although Jeff's shooting may still be affected.
