They both need to stay home, with their current level of play they would be a detriment to team Canada.

Quick better stay home too.

I hope Drew in particular stays home working hard all summer and actually comes back with a chip on his shoulder to prove all his haters wrong because he gave them plenty of ammo in this series.

I don't doubt Jeff's work ethic. I just want him to get healthy.

Drew didn't confirm it to us, but he strongly indicated that because of the World Cup of Hockey in September, he would opt out of playing in the World Championships.

Not that I expected him to play at the WHC, but the fact that he said he has to skip because of the September World Cup in September is laughable and nothing more than a convenient excuse. There was no World Cup to consider last year but he scoffed at the idea of playing in the WHC. I believe when a journalist asked him last year if he would play in the WHC Doughty's reaction was, are you nuts! why would I want to play in that. Doughty is an A team player and considers himself a little above a B level tournament. He's not entirely wrong. I don't except players like Doughty or Crosby to show up every time they are available, but once and a while would be nice. Anyway, it is what it is.

To think he meant that he is required to skip one for the other is laughable, pretty sure he is doing it of his own devices.

As far as last year, he was finishing a 4 year stretch where he had played nearly 350 games.

so he played on average 5 more games per season over and beyond what's required of an 82 game NHL schedule. Ya, I feel his burden. Listen, Doughty is one of my favorite players, but he can cut the BS excuses. Canada proved last year we don't need Doughty to walk all over that tournament. If he wants to play in some year when he's available, then give Hockey Canada a call, but Hockey Canada should just not even bother with him.

Wow, salty. It's Doughty's right to go or not to go. If you feel Canada doesn't need him, why you making such a big deal about it? Hundreds of players have said no, go chastise them as well.

If they don't need him then why make Doughty seem like a bad guy for not going to a tournament that basically no one cares about anyway?
