Buffalo is having another bad season, they are last in the Atlantic and the East.

But Jason Zucker is having a hell of a season all things considered.

18 goals 44 points in 54 games.

What's he get at the deadline? last time it was a 6th round pick but surely he gets more then that this time.

Pretty much.

His injury is kind of a concern right now tho

Zucker has pretty poor numbers in limited playoff appearances (which seems to be mostly limited to the 1st round).

Does he play with tenacity grit and heart?

If he's any kind of an upgrade on Podkolzin and Arvidsson, Oilers would take him for some cap headed back. But given his poor playoff numbers I'm assuming he's not that kind of player?

Nyquist just got a 2nd. I certainly wouldn’t settle for less than that if I’m Buffalo and would make a pretty strong argument Zucker is worth something substantially more given their play this year / gas left in tank…

Yeah, I figure either a 2nd or something like a 3rd and 5th or 6th get it done.

If we don't re-sign him.

The bolded, to be clear to the vultures that want to scavenge Buffalo for parts, is the Sabres’ first choice. Just depends on whether Zucker is interested.

He's played excellently this year. I think at half retained (2.5 mil) and maybe like a 3rd, he could get a late first.

I don't want him moved but his age, ufa status makes it inevitable I think. I can't imagine he re-signs with us after another disastrous season.

A second by a contender is not much for what Zucker could bring. Second plus or late first with retention or other sweetener...
