Value of: Jason Robertson to the Ottawa Senators

Tkachuk/Stutzle might get the conversation started but it won't be a long conversation if the Sens aren't willing to add.

Team's usually don't work through cap issues by trading their top players so I just don't see a world were Roberson is actually available.

At best, it's an one for one trade, even with the premise that "teams don't trade their top players".

If the Stars move Robertson for cap reasons it’s a futures deal to a team that wants to a jump like SJ for Will Power + a 2nd.

For the record, I wouldn't expect the Sens to be willing to add. I just don't see Robo as available so you're going to have to motivate the stars to pull the trigger to move a guy who outproduces the sens top players.

Brady/Stutzle bring more intangibles so maybe the Stars would be more interested in a one for one than I suspect.

There's no way Ottawa is adding to Stutzle for Robertson. It would likely be the other way around.

I am sure no DAL fan would agree with you here.

Stutzle can play C and is younger than Robertson. Both him and Brady are much better physically and should do a lot better than Jason 4th liner Rpbertson in playoffs.

Pretty disingenuous representation of Jason Robertson considering he put 16 and 18 points in playoff the last two years while averaging 20 more points than tkachuk every year.

Chabot for Robertson

Who says No?

Dallas doesn't need anymore LHD. Chabot also wouldn't get a shot on our PP.

Robertson for Brady as a base is the only thing that I think Stars' fans would be interested in.

I assume Stutzle and Sanderson are totally untouchable, and Brady and Chabot are probably close to untouchable too.

Robertson has averaged a 64 point pace in the playoffs in the last 4 years, while averaging a 90 point pace in the regular season in that same span.

His game is not well suited for playoff hockey. He's too slow and soft.

What does 19 year old Stutzle have to do with his value now?

I noticed how you didn't bother to add their games played either. Comical.

Go ahead and make a poll, the overwhelming majority of fans would value Stutzle way ahead of Robertson.

374 for Robertson and 320 for Stutzle giving Robo 1.04 points/game and 0.94 points/game for Stutzle

If Dallas trades Robertson it's because they don't believe he'll help them win a cup in the near future due to his play being better suited for the regular season.

In that scenario I could see them accepting a downgrade at wing like Batherson + additional assets, due to cap space it would open up.

Batherson only makes 4.95M the next two years, while Robertson makes 7.75M next year and will probably get 9M+ on his next contract, so at least over the next couple years the swap would save them 2.8M in cap space in 25/26 and 4-5M in 26/27.

As a Sens fan I'd be willing to attach their 2025 1st + more to Batherson to upgrade to Robertson long-term, provided he'd be willing to extend in Ottawa this summer.

even besides the one guy derailing the thread the premise is robertson being traded because the stars are cap strapped, so tkachuk or stutzle dont help that at all lol

ottawa dont really have cap friendly assets to trade so the real question is would the stars accept

robertson (with extension) for 2025 first and yakemchuk

if yes a discussion can be had, if not then sens cant make an offer that actually makes sense on the premise of this thread

4 years is the period of time where they have both been full time NHLers.

As I said, Id expect the Sens to be unwilling to add but I don't see a world where Robertson is available. If you want a player who is unavailable you need to make it worth their while.

B.Tkachuk is probably as untouchable than Stutzle if not more.
OTT can net a Rantanen like return for him if not more in a trade for their captain and have 0 reasons to trade him for a winger like Robertson.

Batherson + 1st for Robertson would be a fair deal for both sides if not an overpayment by OTT. Batherson's physical presence would be valued by DAL in playoffs. I dont think OTT should be locking up 8M\9M on a player like Robertson or give up this in value.
