Connolly is "still" a top flight winger???

A) When was he ever a top-flight winger? Juinors?
B) He is unquestionably NOT a top flight winger and Steve Conroy, the writer, is either carrying water for the GM to increase his trade value or is somehow related to BC.

I've been a semi-supporter of BC and I wouldn't give up on him yet, but he's a third line NHL forward if he puts it together. If.

the "short leash" article is spot on IMO

I agree.

I love Colin Miller and I think he's going to be very good. But I have zero problem with Julien benching him or cutting his minutes when he does play but does not play well. It is all part of learning to be an NHL defenseman.

Yep but...
...not allowed to do that to these poor kids anymore, can`t be meanies and bench/scratch em:sarcasm:

1 bad game for rookie let's him stay off the lineup for 5+ games, yeah that's the right approach :shakehead

It's not about meanies. I didn't see anyone post anything like that. It's about being consistent.

But how do they become consistent when they sit in the press box for 15 straight games...

I'll take Morrow and his mistakes over K. Miller and his mistakes any time...why because I know the overall skill of Morrow will continue to improve where as I feel K. Miller is what he is...

These kids need to play and make mistakes and not be benched for doing so. I know we are paying a coaching staff to coach...so maybe they should coach...

Teaching is part of coaching still isn't it...
