I don't want to hear no diveavlanche ever again. The way Marchment and Benn has been diving around all series is just pure embarrassment.

Just looks like a savvy veteran move by Benn, noticing Manson keeping his stick up at eye level for who knows what reason. :dunno:

Gotta control that stick. He didn't, and it cost him.

That said, I'll agree that officiating in general has been absysmal - with every team feeling the effects. Pick a game and you'll find blown calls going every which way.

Avs are such frauds. People acting like this is the best version of them since their Cup team. Maybe that’s so, but it doesn’t mean they’re Cup-caliber. If they were able to squeak past a depleted Stars squad (big if) they had better hope the Jets advance, because STL would pound their dicks into the dirt.
So amusing to read these threads after not being here for a few days. "Stars are cooked" a couple days a go. Today "Avs are frauds."

Sooooo dumb but i wish my team had someone like this doing this crap and getting PP's for it.

All penalties should be reviewable and the refs get them perfect.
The Avs got a near 2 minute 5 on 3 in game 1 thanks to Makar diving. The first of the 2 was a massive flop. There's several instances of people on both sides going down real easy this series.

This isn't so much a dive as the stick clearly hit in the face, and it even looks as if Manson angled his stick blade backwards right before contact. Benn sold it, but at absolute worst it should be matching minors. Benn for Embellishing and Manson for high-sticking.

You could also look at how Makar acted like he got shot when he got "elbowed"

Good for the stars man. I thought the avs with the emotional boost of getting landeskog back would go off. They look inconsistent and blackwoods magic is wearing off. Stars have played a steady game and it seems like their stars have woken up at the right time.

Can you post both please? Lets dissect them.

I agree if so, both sides should have this crap taken away.

There is no chance I believe you believe Benn blindly skated into that. He saw it and catapulted himself off the highest Olympic sized diving board he could find. He got away with it. Im jealous an Av didnt do the same and get us back into this game doing it.

But from a hockey fan POV, this crap needs to go.

I'll see if i can find a clip of those specific plays. Not sure if there's anyway to rewatch games now that nhl.tv isn't a thing

I know. Annoying you cant re-watch penalties like you can goal highlights. IMO, its pretty important the NHL does something about this. Only a amtter of time before Game 7 finals is determined by something dumb.

Officiating has been and will continue to be dogshit, it's not new, that's why we all bitch about it every season. The Avs have gone down violently anytime a Stars player has so much as breathed them and the Stars have sold calls as well; it is what it is.

These teams are far too similar, and the stat lines all reflect that. It also makes it easy to hate each other because we can project all the things we hate about our own team onto the other, which is why we're bitching about the same things but from opposing sides.

Avs fans have no place to talk about diving. Makar got shot harder than Benn. The whiplash from his neck alone should've put him in concussion protocol.

Oh you have players that do that.

The outcry from some Colorado fans is hilarious.

You know they/Avs fans are gonna say Makar didn't do anything wrong there.
he flopped just as hard as Benn, if not more so especially when you consider the two plays.

Makar touched by an elbow, whereas Benn got a stick in the face, around eye level.

Im guessing most here have played. An elbow pad to the chin is no joke. That looks like he simply let go of his stick to grab his face and gravity did its thing. There were better angles that we can find on that one too.

And then consciously Makar is wise enough to know an elbow is an elbow. What is he selling more for?

Hard disagree. Benn put his face into a stick simply there and went down. Makar actually got elbowed. If he exaggerated it, we can argue back and forth, but Manson did not high stick Benn on purpose.

If you cant see the difference between the two, then there is no point in this discusinnon.

Actually looking closer, Makar was bleeding after and it looks like the butt end of the stick vs an elbow. If anything he should have argued for 4 min.

you call that an elbow? He barley made contact with Makar and he flopped back as if he got shot.

You’re also quick to say Manson didn’t intentionally high stick Benn but Benn 100% intentionally skated into his stick. You’re naive if you don’t think Manson doesn’t see Benn coming up behind him and tried being discrete with a cheap shot, or an attempt to slow Benn down. Why the heck would Manson move his stick back at shoulder level when his whole body is going forward??

Not saying Benn didn’t sell it but come on.

I’d take minor contact from an elbow to the chin over the blade of a stick to my eye. I’ll tell you that for free.

Intent is not part of the rule.

What did I tell you? It’s so predictable. Makar/Mackinnon are their golden boys and can do no wrong. They don’t dive or ever do anything dirty.

After last year game 6 goalie interference on Duchene, Avs fans are never able to whine about reffing.
