His qualifying offer is 4.41 AAV, so he's basically a rental. I'd rather go for either a cheaper rental, like Nick Paul. Or a more expensive 1.5 year player, like JT Miller.

Where is the source? I know DeBrusk is available (he has been available for a while) and has now asked for a trade, but I don't see what directly links him to us.

He is effectively a rental, because nobody is tendering him a 4.85 mill QO unless he goes beast mode for the rest of the year, and unless Boston is willing to retain and not expect a huge return, I don't really see how we fit him in. If they don't retain, it would have to either be Ritchie + Holl (with them giving us Zboril as well) or Kerfoot straight up. Boston just dumped Ritchie and I would rather just keep working it out with Ritchie than pay assets to see if DeBrusk turns it around.

Actually his cap salary is 3.6M, different from the base salary. He's an intriguing player, he put up decent numbers early on in Boston, but has since fallen off the map, not sure if it's injuries or off ice issues. Having said that, he does play LW, a position we are incredibly weak on, and is only 25, he's still young enough to turn it around and become a power forward in the NHL.

It'd be a gamble, and I'm not sure how we would make his contract work, given were up against the cap ourselves.

f*** no, I hate this little piece of shit. Never forget how he ran over Andersen hitting him in the head, obviously the hit on Marleau, then the piece of shit goes knee on knee with Kadri. 0 penalties called but Kadri got suspended for a retaliatory hit. Dubas better not make a trade for this f***ing kid, he's awful at hockey too.

Kase ($1.2): 17gls/27pts (11:16)
Mikheyev ($1.6): 11gls/24pts (12:29)
Debrusk ($3.7): 9gls/24pts (12:43)
Engvall ($1.1): 10gls/22pts (11:11)
Ritchie ($2.5): 10gls/20pts (12:14)
Kampf ($1.5): 4gls/20pts (12:11)

And Boston has given him plenty of chances in their top 6.

Some goal scoring and shot generation skill but a turd of a player.

We don't need a soft winger.
His one 20 goal season came with a 50% higher shooting % than his career norm.
And too much $$$

Hard pass.

When he heard the rumour, Jake fell to the floor feigning an injury. A single tear travelled down the cheek of his dad.

Would make no sense unless Boston is giving a first or something to get rid of him

Many don't like him but I bet they love him in blue and white. Not sure how he could fit under the cap so I can't see this happening unless Kerfoot goes the other way.

Bennett's numbers didn't look so good until he got a change of scenery. Stats are not always gospel.
