If he does well this year they may end up keeping him as their 1B starter. If he sucks Jersey will probably look to trade for Saros at which point Allen won’t get 40gp.

Next year will be tough because they are sure to add a good goalie this summer. And it’s not like he’s much better than Schmid/Daws as a backup. Devils will find a way to keep it under 40
