Jack Quinn to Njd

The Devils need another forward pretty badly to play on any of their top 3 lines. Quinn isn't exactly living up to his draft pick expectations and might be better off with a change of scenery. In the event that he is available, what would it cost the Devils to acquire him ?
 
I don't think it makes sense for the Devils. The only kids they're bringing onto the NHL roster will either be buy low, Kakko style, or their own prospects.

Certainly no way Nemec or Casey are going for a struggling player. Probably only an established vet.

If he can be had for cheap it makes sense, especially when we don't have any impact forwards in the pipeline aside from Gritsyuk and Hameenaho.

If he cost us Casey or Nemec than it's not worth it. If he cost us a 2nd or 3rd round pick than that's much more enticing. I dont think Buffalo would sell that low on him though.
 
It does feel like Buffalo is showcasing Quinn a bit, but it won't be to sell low on him.

He can't be had for cheap.

He just turned 23. He's nearly .5 PPG player while struggling. There is zero incentive for Buffalo to sell low on him right now.

The kid has tons of skill and tons of potential, but injuries have stunted his development a bit. The positive of that is that his bridge deal this off-season should not be unaffordable. The smart move will be to bridge him cheap and wait on making a long term decision on him for a year or two.

Why would he be cheap. If you aren't even willing to give up a disgruntled underperforming prospect for a young NHL top 6 forward, why should Buffalo listen. Kevyn might be a moron but not that big of a moron. Although, who knows.

Did you see his body language after the last goal of tonight's game? He looked crestfallen. Something seems wrong. Maybe just RBF, I don't know.

I can't imagine it's an easy situation for Buffalo and Quinn - he is a scorer and they have better scorers already going on the scoring lines. He's been scratched a fair bit.

My Jackets might be a good spot for him, at least for this season. They have a lot of top six guys but too many are injured. There's a second line spot open, he could get a look there. I liked him a lot as a draft prospect.
 
I wouldn't be surprised if he gets traded at the TDL or in the summer, but there's no point in trading him for pick or prospect. I think he has 14 points in his last 20 games, which isn't too bad.
 
He had a poor start to this season sure, but not living up to draft expectations is wild.

It’s hard to fault him too much for Buffalo for some reason playing Franchise mode on EANHL and thrusting every higher draft pick into the NHL and forgoing development. But I’d say of the players not playing up to expectations in Buffalo he isn’t on the top of the list.

I would be our top 6 sucks it isn't going to be magically be better by trading forwards away.

I am sure a lot of GMs around the league would like to give him a chance, he has phenomenal talent that he has shown quite often in flashes, and the point is that Adams isn't selling him for pennies, which is what everyone is going to want to pay.

If you are willing to give up something Buffalo needs, then they would listen but just because Quinn is struggling in Ruff's system is not a very good reason to trade him when his value is down.

KId put up 61 points in 45 games in the AHL.en route to winning rookie of the year, and there is so much to like about his game that isn't just his scoring. Injuries have been a huge issue in his development, and he was still only 22 to start this season.

For a team like Buffalo, patiently hanging on to him and hoping that he has a major breakout would be much smarter than dumping him at a repressed value for a return that the team likely doesn't really need.

Am I missing something? He is in his 4th season and has 9 goals this season, over 300 other players have more than 9 goals. That's bottom6 depth, how does he have Nemec/Casey value? What are his advance stats like? I get that he's been better as of late and still has potential, but he's pacing for a worse season than two years ago. In my eyes he's closer to that Holtz/Kakko value in return.

What the Devils need is a proven 35+ goalscorer topline/top6 winger, then Nemec, Casey, Gritsyuk, Hämeenaho or whoever can be on the table. And a solid twoway 3C for a slightly cheaper price

The kid torched the AHL. It seems like the issue is more that Buffalo has too many young forwards at the same time. Several of them are still finding their way, and it's easy for guys to lose their ice time and lose their rhythm.

There's a big gap between what Holtz and Kakko went for.

Is there? In which way? To me they both fetched very underwhelming return. Holtz trade especially considered that Akira Schmid was also given away, and Cotter's value has risen a lot from what it was then due to his hot start early this season (he has since slowed down though).

Anyway I'm not denying that Jack Quinn can't become a 30+ goal scorer someday, but the Devils need help right now and gambling on a project for possible future help is not the right call if the price is this high.
 
Ottawa would be a great fit for Jack Quinn.

Ridley Greig is a centre who has been pushed to the wing.

Sure he can get traded but it would be in a big trade.

Hes in yr 3 of his ELC. Last yr he was injured for most of the season . This year he slumped to start over first 30 games. No need to move him

Dont see Greig as s C and that + woukd not be little.
