Hughes had an absolutely nasty injury. No word yet on how bad it is, but assuming he is out long term, can Devils bring in someone who can at least act as a stopgap? Trade deadline is very close and this could be a scramble to get something going. Who could possibly be out there right now?

Ross Colton?

$4m AAV signed for 2 more years after this one.

Full NMC this season, but would probably waive for his hometown New Jersey Devils.

Snag Jordan Kyrou from St Louis

Kyrou has never played center in the NHL.

Jack Hughes is a center.

Yeah colton would be a nice add.

Just need to maybe salvage the season, they have been struggling with Hughes, gonna be worse without some replacement. I don't think devils management wants another season out of the playoffs.

That's a stupid question. If Jack Hughes is injured, you just trade for another Jack Hughes!

I don’t think that’s a smart idea, but then again I don’t believe just anybody can be a good center in the NHL.
You’re probably right tbh, otherwise the Blues would have tried to make a real push for it

Sometimes I get carried away and think I’m a pro scout lol, though it’s fun to exercise one’s imagination like this. Which is why I love the Trade rumours board the most, it’s also the funniest board.

Have a good one, Roy!
