as i said , in Leaf land it's always the goalies fault , lol

i'm wondering how thrilled Keefe was giving up the 3 on 1 due to a selfish play by our captain ?

but tell me which goals were his fault tonight ?

-Lilly shooting it off his own players shin guards into our net

-the 3 on 1 , sure he could have made a big save but that was a nice shot and if the Leafs scored that this fan base would be praising our shooter and not ripping on the opposing teams goalie

-top corner re-direct

i'm guessing from experience these goals fall under "it's the goalies job to make a big save" category lol

They gave up 18 shots through 3 periods, and 11 shots through 2 periods, what more can you realistically ask for from your defense?

i don't give damn how many shots we gave up or that we controlled the majority of the play . i asked you which goals are you blaming Soup on ?

this f***ing compulsion with counting shots has become absurd

Jack seems to be a confidence driven player so the highs are extra high and lows extra low.

I'm thinking he has 1 good game and turns it around

The first 2 both of those were bad.

Now answer my question.

18 shots through 3 periods, 11 shots through 2 periods what more can you realistically ask for from your defense?

Like I said he's not giving them 850 goaltending right now.

He has been below average. No doubt. I am not sure if it because there is so much time between games? If it is just a slump which happens.

He was on fire when the Leafs were playing all the time and led the league in games played. Quite possibly he is a guy who thrives in that scenario.

All I know is that a 6 game stretch doesn't define him anymore than his 6 game stretch when he was godlike

so Lilly shooting it off his own player and a shooter walking in on a 3 on 1 with all the time in the world to pick his spot are soft goals ?

you keep acting like i'm saying we had a bad game , my point is you can control the entire game but a few breakdowns or bad bounces can cost you the win regardless of how few shots you give up

the only thing that bothered me this game was JT putting his desire to pad his stats above the success of the team , he had zero need to drop down and when the puck turned over he basically just walked back

Campbell has been sub par as of late, but I think he has earned the right to be cut some slack and given the chance to work his way out of it. He's been Vezina caliber since he started playing regularly last season.

That being said, Mrazek also needs to be given more of an opportunity moving forward. If he outplays Campbell, then he should get more starts down the stretch.

Keefe needs to keep both of them sharp so he can ride the hot hand when it matters most.

Blown leads are a team thing

our team ends up collapsing and other teams are able to create holes and poor Jack is left isolated. Last game however, we got a mix of unlucky and bad goaltending.

Jack will be fine, I’d lay mrazek against the red wings then split the b2b

I'd guess that even Georges Vezina let in the odd one or two that he shouldn't have, and they still named the trophy after him.

he's not standing on his head like he had been but he hasn't played badly

giving up a 3 on 1 at the end of the pp was just a selfish play by a team that values padding there stats above all else , there was no reason for JT to drop down from the top of the zone especially with a 3 - 1 lead but hey he's gotta chase his points

also Campbell isn't a .930 plus save % goalie , few are
Still not trading JT.

Anyone around here that has a decision-making time-line of the last two weeks should definitely keep yourself occupied posting on this hockey board, and for goodness sake just stay the Hell away from the stock market.

At least here you can over-react to what happened last night and the week before that without blowing your life savings to smithereens.

Not when you aren't getting 850 goaltending it's not

I wonder if Dreger will go on Insider Trading and talk about how the price to re-sign Campbell is now coming down.

When Campbell was in the midst of his hot streak a month ago, Dreger hard a hard on while mentioning that the price was going up for the Leafs. Absolute f***ing loser.
Just look at how the 'fans' in this forum are reacting. That is why Dreger does it. So many people just thrive off negativity.

Does it matter if your own team shoots the puck in your own net, or if a player tips the puck 2 feet in front of you because your dman doesn't tie up a stick? Or are you blaming Campbell for those goals? If you are then I don't know what to say.

For sure I would have liked him to save the second one, but it was a 3 on 1, with a decent shooter coming down at him. Not the worst goal ever like some in here would have you believe.
