he's got to go, he put up an 840 save% last night and that's not good enough, and I know the excuse is "but he came in cold." or maybe "but he played the previous night."

I don't care I can count on 1 hand the amount of good starts Jack Campbell has had since December, the reality is the Leafs goaltending has cost them about 20 points when you combine regulation losses that they would have won had they gotten a save, and OT losses that they would have won had they gotten a save.

This team should probably have 10 more wins because they are an incredible team, their offense is elite, their defense is at least good, their PP is the best in the NHL, their PK has been elite all season last night aside.

they have had the worst goaltending in the league for months.

Jack needs to be replaced, but not just him, Marazek, Kallgren, Hutch, everybody except maybe Woll.

goaltending is a weakness throughout the entire organization

luckily it appears the market will be flooded with goalies in the off season so they will have a chance to actually address the need this time, and they are going to have because regardless of what Campbell does, Marazek can not come back, the guy has played 32 games combined the last 2 years his career might even be over. and if it is that's 3,8 million we can put towards a new goalie you are probably going to need to spend about 5 so you need another 1.2 million on top of that luckily Kessel's money is off the books so take that money and go get an actual goalie.

Because goaltending is what is going to kill this team

Last night our defensive coverage sucked .
Except for the goal that our starter gave up from Gudas everything was in tight.
Our defensive coverage and toughness has to be much better.

sometimes you need a save and we didn't get it and for the most part we haven't gotten it since December.

This isn't just about last night, it's about almost every night, the only reason people aren't calling for his head is because the team has an elite offense that can score 4+ almost every night including last night, but lsdt night they couldn't get a save

I think it's too early to say Campbell has to go, he played really well his last two starts.

Goaltending is obviously a huge concern and if we can sign a reliable #1 in the summer, I'm all for it. Which goalie would you like us to sign that will be available and will "actually address the need"?

Goalies are voodoo. I don't think there are any top shelf goalies available and it's entirely possible that if we sign someone else and Campbell goes elsewhere, Campbell will outplay whoever it is we sign. That seems to be what happened with Andersen, unless he's guaranteed to choke in the playoffs like some people say, I guess we'll see.

couple things

#1 I don't think it's to early to say Campbell has got to go, like I said I can count on 1 hand, the number of good starts Campbell has had since December that's not a good thing.

as for the answer to your 2nd questiojn I don't care if it's trade or free agency but they need to bring someone in.

in fact regardless of what they do with Campbell they still need to be in the goalie market because Marazek cannot come back.

he's played 32 games combined the last 2 seasonn, it's quite possible his career is over, but even if it's not you can't bring him back.

It could be Kempeur, Gibson, Blackwood, Fluery, Varlamov, somebody else on the market.

I really don't care who it is.

I know a couple of those names have had rough years but they are also on bad teams.

Toronto is a very very good team with very very bad goaltending.

Personally I'd good for Blackwood he's 25 was very very good his first 2 years, he has had rough year this year but NJ is god awful.

I'd also be interested in Gibson who has said he's not interested in a rebuild and that's what the ducks are doing.

I have total faith in most of this team.

Offense, defense, PP, PK, even though the PK was off last night.

I have lost ALL confidence in the goaltending.

I haven't turned on a starter this much since Reimer lost 8 in a row to cost the Leafs the playoffs.

But you could argue this is worse because at least that landed them Nylander

Dear lord man. You take every opportunity to rip goaltending. Now you're criticizing Campbell when coming in cold in the last what, 22 minutes of the game? All while Florida had the momentum and were attacking hard and throwing everything at the net. 2 of those goals, there wasn't much else he could do on them and one was a rebound that the defense needs to do a better job of clearing or at least boxing out opposing forwards so they don't get the 2nd opportunity.

I would agree that Kallgren cost us the game with that deflating Gudas goal but we gave up 49 shots last night and you're ripping on Campbell again?

yes because it's not a one off this has been happening for months.

If this were a one off I wouldn't say a damn thing but it's not, they have had the worst goaltending in the league for months.

They just so happen to be incredibly offensively so it's not costing them like it should be.

And yet I have no doubt they'd have 10 more wins with league average goaltending which again they haven't gotten since about December

Yet here we are, 4th overall. We put up 6 against the great Vasi the night before, chased Bobrovsky, and I just looked up and the sky is still there?

Spoiken and I mean spoiken like a true Leaf Nazi..... Are u watching any games?

We are a very good team. Jack is a goaltender. Are u deliberately forcing his agent not to resign this guy?

We rock dude. We have Matthews and Marner.

This team is beyond exciting... Spend some more time with your family. I think you need it.

We also have the boosh.

The giraffe...

I bet you don't even attend the Stanley Cup parade, you might spill your latte.

again they have an incredible offense so that wins them a lot of games.
No doubt the team put up plenty of goal support over the winning streak and last night. Campbell in return provided the team with a fighting chance in giving up three and two goals against in his first two starts back. Goaltending can't control what the offence does and doesn't bring, and the same applies for the offence in relation to the goaltending. I don't particularly hang last night's loss on Campbell because he had started the night before.

Florida's goaltending is the same
TB we shelled there goaltender
Boston we shelled there goaltender

The talent level in our conference is crazy

Soup had some huge saves as well
The same with our starter.

All iam saying is our forwards and defence need to be better.

Jack was really good against Tampa.

He made some good saves last night but struggled with them putting pucks in tight on him and crashing the net. He did come in cold on a back to back after a long layoff so that's not surprising. It felt to me like we could have used Boosh plowing the road there a bit in front of the net.

The Leafs are in such a good place in the standings because they have the second highest offense in the NHL. If I'm not mistaken, team save percentage has been hovering around close to dead last (31st) for almost 4 months now. Mrazek has been trash all season, Kallgren is playing like what he is, an AHL goaltender, Campbell besides two recent games, has had Petr Mrazek numbers since December 15th.

It's pretty hard not to say that goaltending is a huge problem for Toronto. I'm not even talking about last night, but overall.

Campbell wasn't good last night, but came in cold. I can't ever give a thumbs up on an .850'ish save percentage regardless of how bad our defense was and it was bad.

I don't think Campbell is the answer to their goaltending woes in the first round, I really don't. Especially if Keefe continues to use the due of Muzzin and Holl together, they're gonna get lit up left and right.

This is why my excitement levels have tapered off over the last few months, goaltending has been otherworldly awful for four months. I don't care about 2-3 good performances scattered here and there over 4 months, I care about the FOUR months.

Just don't don't see it.

Agreed on boosh. I'm pretty sure that goal where Holl was defending the slot, if it was boosh, there wouldn't have been that second chance, but if and maybe about to nothing

This is the first time I've ever said this but we should've kept Freddie. And I was a Freddie 5 hater....
Yes you were and yes we should have.
I've said it before, they should have used a couple years to see if Campbell would be able to handle a heavy workload
