I thought Mrazek was supposed to be one of those edgy competitor types.

I don't think so. He's been advertised as a hot and cold goalie who can go white hot and play unbeatable, and In Goal Magazine speculated the Leafs liked him because he does well in the type of defensive environment the Leafs create. (Not sure if they meant shot locations, etc.) So far we have not seen this good Mrazek.

I'm not sure anyone gets fired unless we get the wheels beat off of us. Hopefully this team can dig deep for once and get the series win. I think if they were to win a series in spite of goaltending it would take the pressure off of Campbell (or Mrazek) and we'd see some better goaltending.

I think some puck luck goes a long way in the playoffs and we didn't get it last season.

Problem for me is when you look at who the Leafs will face 1st round TB, Florida or Carolina you realize the Leafs team would be underdogs against all 3 of these teams.
If you are an undergod 1st round/expected to lose you just are not that great.

Look, if we lose first round Dubas isn’t coming back. He’s gone, Keefe’s gone and wholesale changes are coming. Knowing that, I just don’t think Dubas let’s his career be decided by a mentally fragile question mark. I expect he does do something bold.

What would a bold move look like?

Honestly I'm not a fan of MAF. I Thi k he's past his prime by a fair bit.
I can think of goalies I would like, but cannot see us getting them unless Anaheim is ready to move on from Gibson
I’d love Gibson. Varlamov. Those are big swings. Fleury brings pedigree too, for a team that hasn’t had a good playoff run his presence would help too.

I think we need a big swing. I was hoping Campbell would be the real deal but I'm not comfortable with him going forward, even if he pulls it together.
When he was hot I just saw things in his game that struck me as missing fundamentals. I gave the benefit of the doubt to his hybrid style, which he seems to have moved away from, and hoped for our sake he could be as he seemed.
Him being unproven was also a big question mark for me and I hate to dump on a leafs player, but we need better.

Jack Campbell, is the most likeable guy, since Johnny Bower, in the Leaf org.

Sure, his stats are not good lately.

But if you look at the weird deflects and such going by him, it pure bad luck in a lot of cases.

My point? My point is, stfu for the next ten games.

Let him be. And find the puck again, in a crowd.

Bringing in MAF, might be okay, but it also might be big time destructive.

I dunno, Campbell carried the team, for quite some time.

Live with him.

Live and let live..

The alternative? Bringing in MAP, would be ultra mercenary.

He has been awful since early January I’m not sure 10 more games will be much different.
It’s not like this has been a minor short slump

Why is he the most likeable guy since Johnny Bower? What does even have to do with his game?

Cujo wasn't likeable or James Reimmer?

Slump? Has his entire career been a slump with minor flashes ?

When did he carry the team for long time? Is 2 months really carrying for long time? Isn't that what starters do ?

It isn't deflections going top corner.

Pucks are getting tipped and going through his 5 hole.

Exposing his poor technique.

All he has to do is have a technically sound butterfly and the pucks don't go through him. But his stick is all over the place and he isn't flexible enough to get a good seal and still take away the bottom of the net.

For me the biggest problem is campbells consistency

he doesn’t have a B or even C game.

he has either A+ game or F game

it’s either a vezina game or an echl goalie. That’s what’s been the biggest difference between Campbell and other true starters. Campbell doesn’t have many .905-.920 games. He doesn’t have the average night. He either has 1-2 on 30+ shots or he has 5+ on 30+.

I’d rather have a goalie who plays great 2 games, bad 2 games, and average 6 games vs a goalie who plays great 4 games and bad 6 games. It gives us a chance in 8 games vs 4.

he hasnt had an a game or even b since nov.

Campbells gotta have a middle ground because he is such a polarizing goalie right now
