I noticed in the third period that he kept looking behind himself after a save. That's not the hallmark of a confident goalie. But he was square to the shooters far more often, and he needs to keep that going.I don't think he was all the way back in this one but he was definitely better.
Mrazek's career SV% is .910 and the last time he played in more than 20 games in a season and was above .920 was 2015-16. In fact, that was the only time in he's career that he's accomplished that feat so I don't see this happening.
Plan A will be a quality Jack Campbell getting a raise north of what Mrazek makes and then you get a cheap backup like an Anthony Stolarz while trading Mrazek.
Plan B would be Mrazek stealing Campbell’s job, letting Campbell walk and signing or acquiring a platoon guy to go with Mrazek. Along the lines of a Korpisalo, Georgiev or something along those lines.
Fatigue is a concern. He's already played more this season than ever before and we're only halfway through. He shouldn't be starting ¾ of the games, ⅔ max. Mrazek is being paid 30 starts money and should be starting 30 games. Alternate starts here on out and have a rested Campbell for the playoffs.

wtf did Vasi sabotage this man withLeafs' Campbell excited to learn from Vasilevskiy at first All-Star Game
All ready scouting his pre-game routines for a possible playoff meeting.
Wow. 3+ in 12 of last 16. I was going to hop on netflix and put a horror movie on, but you took care of my horror fix with this visual.
What's wild is that despite Campbell's poor stretch of games his save percentage on the year is still above 0.920 and in the top 10 of goalies in the league.
He was that good to start the year. We knew it wasn't sustainable, but hopefully he's not just falling off a cliff
Here's a scary thought for you Bert.
There was some talk about Campbell's SV% on Overdrive a couple of weeks ago. They were saying a .940 SV% is unsustainable, but a .920 SV% for the entire season is completely within the realm of possibility. But considering he was at a Vezina front runner level for a few months, in order to get to .920 by seasons end, it would necessarily be a very bumpy regression to the mean, aka flirting with .900 and below the second half. And unfortunately, that's what we've been seeing the past month and a half.
No easy answers with this one. I think everyone likes him, but with zero track record to fall back on, you just don't know.
It's why having a quality 1B is necessary. And I don't believe Mrazek is it personally (though I'm willing to give him some rope).
If the Leafs are wanting to contend I would suggest stepping up with someone more proven hence why I mentioned MAF in the trade thread.
You can upgrade the D all you want but weak goaltending will always falter. Whereas a hot goalie can steal you a series if your D underperforms.
I don't mind MAF! Send Mrazek out for him a 50% retained?
Why would Mrazek have any value with his play and contract? We would have to pay to unload him currently.
A .902 save % goalie making 3.8M for 3 years (2 additional after this one) is not appealing.
If you're going after MAF, then getting Mrazek some games to up his value is certainly the way to go. Thankfully, we've still got the games to give him. And just for the record, Campbell had two tipped shots and a screened shot past 3 players that picked a corner go past him last night. Tips are tough to stop at the best of times, and nobody was going to stop Kilington's (?) shot if they couldn't see it.
