Always best to look at the big picture and not a small sample size. Play whoever is hot, this is why we paid what we did for Petr. Campbell is the same person as he was a month ago and he's going to be fine. Enough with the overreactions and what have you done for me lately mentality. It was extremely obvious that Jack would regress, he's likely a player in the middle between the hot and cold stretch and we know he can turn it up for the playoffs.

His struggles are a good thing as long as they are temporary. The AAV on his extension is dropping by the game. I still believe in him long-term, I think it's just a bad stretch. We have enough cushion to deal with his poor form for now.

Hopefully this also lights a spark under Mrazek, he has a chance to earn a larger workload.

Mid season struggles are da norm for every pro tender .. but defense has left him out to dry past 2 games .. OMG zero defense last night

A few games I can be lenient with but he's been straight up bad since December 1st. He's allowed 3 goals or more in all but 3 games since then (the two Edmonton games and the Ottawa game). 2 months of bad play is concerning.... They've played some tough teams recently so I was trying to give it a pass as even Vasilevskiy has been bad lately, but I thought he'd get his shit together against a bad team like NJ.

Barring a fall down the stairs for the second half, his contract will be highly dependent on what he does in the playoffs..

If he goes under 910 and is mediocre in the playoffs, he will drop down to backup status at best...

Cruel game, but its fun to watch him when he is in sync and seeing the puck like an eagle.

The silver lining of Soup’s slump is that it gives Mrazek a chance to get more regular playing time to try and find a groove.

This could be big for the Leafs down the stretch and in the playoffs, but it can also help Mrazek’s trade value.

I doubt Mrazek is going anywhere, even if Soup starts to play better the last stretch of games is going to hang over his head and be debated for awhile.

If we take emotion out of it for a moment, (I love Campbell and his come up story as much as anyone) there’s actually a cap motivated reason why the Leafs should actually want Mrazek to take over.

Neither goalie is going to be a full season .940 goalie. But whomever can get us to around .920 consistently and stand tall in big moments is basically our guy. Mrazek is signed for a medium term and doesn’t cost that much. He’s got cost certainty. Jack doesn’t and his cap hit goes up and our risk goes up the medium term the better he plays short term.

One of the reasons I hate this Bettman economic system. Completely destroys emotional attachments and turns hockey fans into cold blooded capologists.

Campbell's play has fallen off ever since the Leafs lost their fans. I don't think it's a coincidence. He feeds off of the SOUPPPP chants

Well unless Trudeau and Ford fall under a truck, more reason for him to go elsewhere...

I would be surprised to see soup sign here, but if he doesn't I will always be a fan of his for life.

Any scrub backup in the league could have handled this one but give him the next start to see if he can build on it.

Ehhhh Hutchinson could have handled this game. Need more information. The slump a bit too wild to know if he's back yet.
I dont look at the opponent or how they played to assess how Campbell played. He looked sharp, no hesitation, no guessing, swallowed pucks and made the big saves when he had to.

During his slump (the Anaheim game wasn't one of them), he was more the opposite.

Mrazek's career SV% is .910 and the last time he played in more than 20 games in a season and was above .920 was 2015-16. In fact, that was the only time in he's career that he's accomplished that feat so I don't see this happening.
