Someone must teach these Swedish forwards how to screen a goalie. Ton of PP opportunities and quality shots from the blue line but easy saves every time.

That was quite a mature performance by czechs. Russians looked faded all the game. Some great saves by Dostal. He looked very calm and certain.

Great to be back in the final again! Really liked what I saw of our power play :)

Congratulations to the Czechs for a really emotional win in front of their home fans. The Czechs always play with a great deal of emotion and passion against Russia, and they showed confidence today. At the same time, the Czechs rarely ever show much emotion against Canada, and I expect a repeat tomorrow with a decisive Canadian win. But a Silver is quite an accomplishments for the Czechs.

Russia had a good tournament overall, considering the huge toll taken by injuries that wiped out their 4 best players. But it only counts in the Medal round, and they didn't have anything to show for themselves today.

Great win against a decimated russian team. It's funny how people don't understand the rosters. They trash US which never has an A-team at Hlinka. That win over Russia was expected. It wasn't some czech brilliance there all game.

Decimated Russia that still managed to win it's group, which included full strenght Canada. You can try to play it down all you want, but it's a great victory for Czechs all things considered, and they certainly weren't the favorites going into the game.

That was my point. They were, but people just don't do their research. Czechs weren't anything special in that particular game. Russia was outnumbered and out of gas after playing previous games without it's best players already. It was a proper result for the Czechs against Russia's B-team basically. It's not like Russia could ice 2 equal teams. And it's not like the Czechs have a team of nobodys.

To be frank even with its best players this Russian team looked mostly like crap last year. Even if we had had our best we could have easily lost too. Kudos to Czechs, excuses for losers.

I would add Plasek and Pekar to those who impressed. Plasek is very fast and skilled, when he adds some weight on he could be force. Jenik is very interesting, born on the last day of eligibility for 2018 draft, you can see he has lots of maturing left to do.
Absolutely agree on Gajarsky, my favorite player of this team. Seems like that player who "can do it all".
One player who I think hasn't showed his true colors yet is Kvasnica. Very strong PK player, hard to knock off the puck and good along the boards. But also a very hard and accurate wrist shot. That snipe against US was hopefully a sign of things to come, since he can really rip it. (Though I admit the US defenseman didn't make it that hard for him, their defense was kinda mess, that shorhanded 7th goal by Jenik was a great example of that.)

Unfortunately, true. Before the tournament began, I thought Czechs would struggle offensively, but would be rock solid defensively. It's the exact opposite. Zabransky has his moments, pretty good shot, but his foot speed needs some work, seems a bit sluggish out there. Malik has been the most dissapointing for me. He has always been among the best D in U17, but here he just makes so many mistakes. Needs to get stronger, for a guy of his size he's very thin. I don't understand why the Adamek-Malik pairing has not been changed yet, by far the worst in my eyes. Shame Dajcar is injured, top pairing defenseman on this team. Agree on Dostal, guy is very good, easily the backbone of this 00 generation.

Do you know if Dajcar's injury is serious?

There were probbaly emotions but also confidence, speed, skill and system. We looked faster imo. But to be honest performance of russian team played some role. I dont know whether we played such an organized game or russianswere tired as atas posted but they didnt look they could change something to win it. I would say there will be same amount of emotions against Canada as well. But what works sometimes against your team is not always workable especially against Sweden and Canada whose guys could play game like thhey are two years older, or just more complex. We will see, its just an junior match but to be honest I hope we have more to show up than this speed/skill/team game. Because thats what we have been doing on senior level for last two years and its so predictable that its not even funny :)

Good tournament for our team, of course USA isn´t as strong as last year, they sent their "B" team, but still, they play good hockey. Russia was a tough opponent, but I think our team was more confident and had better movement on the ice and they showed less mistakes in def than in match with Sweden. Hope that our team will show the same performance against Canada. So far, I think our best players are: Plášek, Zábranský, Lauko, Jeník, Blumel, Gajarský, Střondala and of course Dostál + the most important player - teamwork ;-)

Very pleasantly surprised by the Czech performance, crowd in Breclav is really great, but that's each year, it has to push them up to another level. There are some nifty, talented forwards on Czech team, but I think Canada is way to good for our boys, as always, especially our defense is going to be in troubles. I am going today. I hope that tickets are still only 80 czk and not more for the finals, lol.

Can anyone please remind me what were CAN lines in yesterday's game vs Sweden?

Do what is expected of you and you were born to do. Gold is the only thing that matters. This is our game.

Go Canada Go!!

You are correct in congratulating the Czechs and not making excuses. The Russians had the same opportunity to take the game away from the Czechs, but they couldn't do it.

At the same time, I get really tired of the Czechs using an all-out effort against Russia, and then turning around the next day with no emotion left and getting run over by Canada. I certainly hope that the Czechs win, but I expect a decisive win, maybe a blowout, by Canada.
